It was simply perfect, it is indeed the best hotel in the region. The hotel's structure is so great that my girlfriend and I didn't need to go out to sightsee the city. The main reason we stayed there in the first place was because this hotel was the filming location of the 70's mexican tv series called Chavo del 8, but besides its magical touch that every place of the hotel reminded us of this iconic series, this hotel also surprised us in every possible way. It has an outstanding atmosphere, a great staff, a huge breakfast and a fantastic pool with a little "island" in the middle along with an excellent bar called La Isla. Plus, the waiter Noe and the staff provided such a terrific service with the drinks and the tasty food. The room services and the room itself were also extremely great, our bedroom was very spacious, comfortable and cozy! Congratulations for the great service guys, cheers from Brazil :)

This is a good hotel. It’s got a great beach location and nice swimming pools. My one complaint is that I paid extra for a lounge access room. When I arrived I was told that the lounge is closed due to COVID-19. While that may be understandable I still got charged for the lounge. As a consolation they did send a sample of the food that would have been available to my room after 6 pm. I would suggest you save yourself some money and get the regular room. As for the room itself, with the A/C set with the highest level my room never got below 26c, so you don’t have to worry about being too cold when you come in from the beach.

The short story: Do not ever come to this hotel. Rather: Do not even come to Acapulco, by far the dirtiest beach, bay and ocean in the country. Advice: Do not trust the good reviews at all check the one-star ones, they are very consistent in the issues. For the record: I live in Mexico and I have been all over. The long why? 1-Hotel Emporio is the loyal reflection of the rest of Acapulco, a dilapidated place that has seen no maintenance for 30 years full of zombies longing for the long-gone golden age when Elisabeth Taylor, Tarzan, Sinatra and Julio Iglesias showed off around here. That is no more and the city has totally failed to adapt. 2-The room: broken door lock that they were still fixing when we arrived. Kitchen furniture from the 70s all broken and anyway no plates or cutlery or glasses so what is it for? Old rusty fridge also with internal shelves gone or broken. See photos. And they showed up to clean the room at 7 pm when everybody is back from the beach showering and getting ready for dinner, so thanks we will do the bed ourselves. 3-Hot water? Dark like oil, see photo. Thus: cold shower or no shower: your choice. 4-Our block had 10 floors and a total of 210 rooms, for all that 2 elevators and only one of them working, plus max 4 people per elevator, so you can imagine most of the time we walked up and down six floors. The other option is to wait 15 to 20 min to reach the lobby. 5-Breakfast buffet: they play Michael Jackson, and worse than that, full blast from 7 am, is like eating in a disco, waiters and customers shouting their heads off over the covid face-masks plus the music. On a busy weekend expect 20 min line to enter the dining room and another 20 min line to get your breakfast. Anyway the quality of food is terrible. 6-Gym: no AC and half the equipment broken down, good luck using the treadmill as I did at 90% humidity and no ventilation/no AC in the room. 7-One of the good things is that they have several pools one of them adults only but guess what? Is full of noisy children, or childish adults with huge loudspeakers competing who plays the loudest and cheesiest tunes. The only thing hotel staff controls is that they don’t bring drinks from the Oxxo outside and buy from their bar, for the rest they couldn’t care less.

On the website says every room has mini fridge, NOT TRUE, we had to ask for it and they made it seem like such an ordeal. Other than that, the pools are nice and right on the beach

Towels Towels and more towels. I would of given this place 5 stars but the hassle over beach towels was unbelievable. First when we came to spend money at the pool before the 3 check in time my girl asked for two towels and was told that she would have to use it in front of the towel girl????? Crazy!!!!! Thought ok but the next day we turned in our towels and the staff at the towel area couldn’t find the card to give back so we aren’t charged at checkout. Long story short nice place with a great staff. Lighten up on the beach towels, it’s a resort on the beach you are going to loose some towels.

Very friendly staff and helpful. Average prices. Our room was nice but it didn't have a mini fridge. Their amenities are really nice and taken care of. Their pools are awesome.
