Despotes, there are no reservations, you have to look for accommodation everywhere, they charge you for everything, you have to beg them for a room, the staff ignores you, I don't know what they think or who they think is any hotel for the neighborhood, and the receptionists act like bartenders.

It went very badly for us at the hotel las grottos. I recommend a better hotel paradise or others that are there... It is very cold at night and they only give a blanket that is not even warm, when asking for an additional blanket they say that they do not buy.. We found out with the person in charge of the hotel paradise and there if they lend additional blankets, do not make the mistake of staying here

Expensive room, no tv, no wifi, no drawers, no climate, just a noisy fan. They do not provide hand towels. There are no clear directions to rooms from 88 onwards and there is no one to accompany you to show you the room. In terms of location, there are too many stairs. It was torturous. No view, no grotto, no river is worth it. I will not return to this place.

This 36 degree Celsius hot river is a world class experience, we enjoyed this site for three days, on a busy weekend, without a car. The restaurants serve average Mexican food. Bring water shoes. I took off a star because they don't accept reservations. Otherwise everything here works well. Seriously, go on a WEEKDAY for a laid back experience Consider driving, but this road is gravel, steep, full of switchbacks, and about 3 km end to end. On busy weekends: There are frequent crowded microbusses to get around the site on weekends for 10 to 20 pesos. They do not take any reservations at any hotel on this site. This hotel is fully booked on weekends and holidays. (Semana santa!, Etc.). This is how you get a room on busy days. Between 6 and 11 am every day go to the reception desk and write your name on the "lista de espera". Go back to the lobby at 2 pm SHARP and stand by the chain at the reception desk. They will call out your name and form a line. Be there or you will not get a room. I arrived Friday at 2 pm. I did not get a room the first night. They suggested I rent relatively expensive tent and gear in the campground along the river. (Perfect if you enjoy revelling crowds, loud Mexican music, and smokey campfires.). There are other hotels on the site. But they also use the "Lista de espera" system. (No they don't share lists). One km up the road I rented a room in a large private home at "entrada 3" exit for one night. Next morning walked to la gruta at 6 am and got my name in first position on the list. So when I went back at 2 pm I got room 40 (850 pesos 2 double beds and balcony). Others, further down the list went back to camping. Room 40 has a balcony and lovely view. It is basic, no tv, no wifi, no hot water but otherwise clean an in good condition. We had a lovely 3 night stay. Too bad we spent the first 24 hours playing rent a room lottery.

Beware. Roaches and bed bugs, spots in the mattress. Holes all over the walls. No phones to call their office. The workers at the restaurant and hotel are unhappy workers and give really bad attitude and are not very helpful. The restaurants do not open at the time they say they are. We got crazy horrible bug bites. I cannot speak for the other hotels, but orangy one we stayed in near the river was not a good experience. They also rent out the camping gear, but we also experienced the cockroaches and dirty mattresses.

Hotel mediocre. The hot water springs fantastical. We had a small room and it was small:) no hot water, only from the springs. Cold outside cold water. Two electric outlets. Room gets warm during the day. If you use the fan in the evening/at night you are down to one outlet for charging you camera, phone etc. The bed is ,I think, a matrimonial. If you are used to a king it is a bit crowded but for us ok.
