In the two nights that we stayed, the water went out and the room we had did not cool the weather well, but two good points are that they have a restaurant with few options but rich food and that La Pesca is not so far from the beach.

Ever the attentive and welcoming owners ms Cecilia and mr Gilberto. My family and I met them originally back in 1998 and we made it a tradition to travel there twice or thrice a year. Except for when the Narco War started in 2010 and stopped traveling for about five years and stopped running through riverfront highway via Reynosa and San Fernando. We instead travel via Monterrey- Ciudad Victoria.
Now, the hotel is family owned and operated . Has a very comfortable dock that is lighted up during the night. One can fish from the dock at nighttime with the correct bait/lure and tackle and a bit of luck we've landed speckled trout, sheepshead, croakers, needlefish etc.
The property features a swimming pool with two shallow kiddie sections, covered cookout and picnic section with multiple grills and a large deep frying pan and a gas burner.
The rooms are basic and feature three double beds and very cold mini split units, which are very welcoming when you retire to the room for the evening.
Please be warned that the property only takes cash (Mexican cash preferibly).
Also, the property features a basic restaurant. Prices and quality are very attractive. I can vouch for the machaca con huevo in the breakfast. Ah, they also feature home made flour tortillas, made on the spot
The breaded fish fillet is also good and as are the chilaquiles and enchiladas.
This property is located on the right side ( river side) of the highway toward the La Pesca Beach. On a bend (curve) to the right almost across the highway from the local campus for the Universidad Tecnológica del Mar.
Overall, this lodging option is wholesome and very family oriented. Surely there are more convenient/ comfortable or fancy accommodations, but in my opinion it provides excellent value for the money, the lighted dock at night is generous for fishing and the hospitality is unparalleled. Give it a try. Happy journey and good fishing.

This hotel is operated by a family (a married couple). It has a very comfortable dock that lights up at night. One can fish in it at night and with the right mix of equipment, bait and a bit of luck we have caught speckled trout, white croaker, crocas, bream, stingers and ribbons, etc.
The property has a swimming pool with two lower areas for children, a covered area and a picnic section with tables and chairs, multiple grills and a disc with a gas burner for dialing or frying.
The rooms are basic and with three double beds and very cold mini splits, which become a blessing when one retires to rest at night.

In total, this accommodation option is a very family atmosphere. Surely there are more convenient alternatives, perhaps more comfortable or even more luxurious. But for me, La Pesca Lodge offers excellent value for my money, the pier illuminated at night is very generous for fishing and the hospitality of its owners is unmatched. Give it a try and good luck and good fishing!
