Hotel Las Garzas - 97336 Chelem

Very friendly people. Simple beach type hotel. Had a few meals. Be very specific on your food order and you will not be disappointed. We do not like refried beans.

Love the staff, most helpful. Food is the best in Chelem. <3 Thankful and grateful to have sat in with the Yucatan locals here at Capital O.

I am a local; this review is just for the restaurant, not the hotel. Overall: 2/5 stars Food: 2/5 stars Service: 4/5 stars 2 of 5 overall almost seems too rough because the service was very friendly and helpful, but I need to stick to my guns on rating standards - for me, a restaurant is about food and will never rate higher than it's food. That said, obviously the food was very underwhelming. The buffet was extremely simple and to be frank, was passable, but not much more than that. My wife had french toast that she said was good, but again not great. The real highlight of this place was the employees being so friendly. If you want a place to just come relax with a coffee or beer at the poolside this is a good option. Chat with employees, chat with locals, chat with Mexican tourists. Enjoy!

Let this be my first one star. First, they don't answer the phone. I went to the hotel door and had to wait over 3 minutes... I know, I know. Patience. Well this is a hotel where you have to leave your ID, so I gave them an unimportant one. Then they informed me there's wifi only in the public area and no TV. I was desperate for a hotel so I soldiered on. The rooms were large and clean, until my niece found a cockroach the size of a cigar in the bathroom. I closed the door and disposed of it (darn quick insect!), so now it's shower time. The water is actually salty, so salty that it has corroded the fixtures to a point that it's iffy when you turn the water on. Soldiered on. Check out time I am told I have to bring the towels I used from the bathroom to check out. I did, retrieved my ID and got the he'll out of there. Sheesh

Bad service all the way. Like they are making you a favor. Also double charged my card for the room.

When we got to the hotel it was not what it had seemed to be online, so i decided to give it a chance anyway, I paid for a double bed room, upon getting into the room the door would only open halfway, the bedsheets were disgusting, looked as if there were signs of bed bugs, I turned the fan on and it kept making loud screeching noises along with turned off then back on by itself. The air conditioning hardly worked, after about 30 minutes of staying in that hotel my wife and I decided to leave, we had already paid for 3 nights. I did not expect to get a full refund, however I did expect to get something back. I was told I would be refunded 1000$ pesos, however that has not happend, now I will be contacting my bank and letting them know not to accept any charges from this hotel and let them know that we had canceled our reservation. I 1000000% do not recommend this hotel at all.

The staff was kind and friendly and they had availability. The hotel itself looks okay but the rooms are very dated and require a ton of maintenance. The furniture it very old including the beds and they feel like laying in plastic. The tv was tiny and had lines going through the screen. There were also ants in the room and the free breakfast was average so we decided Not to take advantage of it again after we tasted it. The pool looked huge but on the weekend the pool is full so didn’t get to try it either. Very close to the beach about 2 min walk. Also fan in the room didn’t work and the AC is unadjustable so it just throws out air so you have to keep turning it off. It’s good if you have limited options. The night was about $840.mx
