Somos una pareja Belgo-Mexicana que después de vivir en el extranjero por algunos años decidimos apostar por un sueño en la bella ciudad de Querétaro.
Nuestro hotel es el fruto de ese sueño
¿por qué "Mamá Carlota"?
Como saben, cuando México se independizó de España, hubo un primer imperio, (1821- 1823) y después de la intervención francesa, hubo un segundo imperio (1863-1867).
El emperador del segundo fue Maximiliano de Habsburgo, archiduque de Austria, el hermano menor del emperador Francisco José. Su esposa fue Charlotte de Belgique, hija del rey Leopoldo, rey de Bélgica.
Cuando las cosas se pusieron feas en México y Francia retiró el apoyo militar a Maximiliano preocupados por los conflictos en Europa, se olvidaron del emperador que habían mandado a México, teniendo además a Estados Unidos presionando a Benito Juárez para echarlo; Maximiliano se negó a abdicar y se trasladó a Querétaro para defenderse de los republicanos y, después de aguantar un rato, se dice que fue traicionado, aunque también hay una historia donde dice que negoció la plaza, sea lo que fuere, finalmente fue aprehendido el dia 15 de mayo, la fecha de la caída del imperio.
La calle donde se ubica el hotel se llama 15 de mayo. Carlota la esposa de Maximiliano era conocida como Mamá Carlota en México, y de origen Belga como nuestra pequeña familia.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great. 2nd stay. These are the nicest kindest people. On my first day I fell down stairs while looking for an apartment. They brought me bandages, made me supper when I hurt to much to go out and kept me supplied with "zip lock bag" ice packs. The owner introduced me to my real estate agent and recommended a vet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed here for a few nights with my partner as part of a vacation and could not be more pleased. This is a really good hub for your activities in the city, located in the historic center. All the sites and areas are within a few blocks, walking, or a short ride away. The multilingual staff had great suggestions for shopping, events, dining, historic sites, etc. We mostly ate out, but the food here is good, too. This hotel is new and the attention to design, detail, and service is exceptional. Special. Charming. Boutique hotels like this are my preference for lodging because of the personal touch and their complete contrast with big hotels. The owners are the operators and hand-crafted the whole place. I talked to them about their experiences working or living in Belgium, Spain, Canada, New Zealand, and all over Mexico. I’m glad they settled down to establish this place. I have lived abroad and travel a ton, globally—business and personal—and I appreciated this hotel at a deep level. I’ll be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great stay in Centro Queretaro. What I specifically liked was the simple-ness of the room and bathroom.. clean, minimal and spacious. And the ease of hot water.
And yes believe me when I say this is where you want to stay if you intend to stay in Queretaro Centro.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overall great, clean and well located hotel. Quite small, but the location makes you ready to be out and about all day exploring the city square and surroundings in no time. One star penalty for advertising free breakfast (online and at front desk) and only letting us know it's not currently available when we were ready to sit down at their cafeteria.
