About Hotel Media Luna

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would expect more for the price, but basically it is ok, rooms with terrace are good to enjoy the weather. The restaurant is not good though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Extremelly small rooms. Way overpriced. Room, bed, and bedsheets were somewhat clean. Bathroom stinked like it wasnt properly cleaned. Amenities like the pool were unavailable. Overall awful experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went there a few years in a row during spring break, taking my underwater adventure and travel club from A.C.C. about 10 years ago. They were very accommodating and cheap enough for a community college club. Rooms were cozy and comfortable, food was amazing, great patio to drink espresso in the morning with the smell of the nearby orange blossoms, scuba lessons and transportation to la media Luna springs and puerta de los dios (spelling?) (Door of the Gods, in English).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ *Owner says "I have one room left, biggest room we have, $1500 with 2 king size beds." But I found out they were nearly empty.
*Found old linen and towels outside my door.
*(We bring and use our own linen and pillows.)
*There was an earwig insect in our tub.
*The balcony had not been cleaned in weeks and had several weeks worth of leaves and flowers on it, which i threw away for my wife's sake, so she could enjoy the balcony.
*Room was 40°C (over 104°F) when we walked in, around 10:45 PM. (I carry a thermometer for travel.)
*Ceiling fan did not work. I reported it, got no apology, just merely an acknowledgement.
*Air conditioning was insufficient for such a big room of approximately 40 meters square. It took the small wall mount air conditioner until 3 am to get the room cool *enough to sleep.
*When we left, there was no record of the receipt i signed, probably because I paid cash. They had to manufacture a new receipt.
*This hotel is not meant for serious travelers or those who want a clean place to stay. They are more geared to teaching you how to scuba dive.
Positive side:
*The two pools are filled from the water from Laguna Media Luna. NO CHLORINE! We used the pool to cool off so we could go to sleep, the lack of chlorine was a blessing.
*The shower was spacious, full of HOT WATER!
There is a scuba diving shop in the bottom of the main building. When the scuba shop operator arrived in his white Honda van, he pulled as close to the passenger side of my van as possible, within centimeters... making it apparent that he was angry that I took his parking spot. However, I was parked exactly where the owner told me to park.Ehen the scuba shop operator finally saw that i was sitting in my vehicle, he made eye contact with me and moved his van away from my passenger door.
Overall I give them a 2.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place was really nice and clean! I was just upset, I reserved 3 rooms. When i arrived I ended up only needing 2 rooms. They would not let me cancel, I had to still pay for my 3 reservations. Which I understand. They were booked out for the night, there was a family with little kids who needed a room! And they wouldn’t allow me to let go of one reservation, so they can rent it out! They have no heart, poor family had to sleep outside in vehicle, while I had an extra room that was not being used! That was just so wrong.
