★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I first stayed at the Hotel Palmira in 1957 when my father, a newspaper reporter at the Tucson Daily Citizen, took us on a trip of discovery along Highway 15 from Nogales to Mexico City. Six kids and my parents. I was only four years old then. While I have no specific memory of our stay, my father was impressed enough to mention the hotel by name in his story for the paper. Looking at the photos online, I can understand why he liked it. I will be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Its clean but terrible service. Front desk is very rude and house keeping is the worst. You literally have to argue with the employees for one towel to shower. I will never come back even a motel 6 gives you better service

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice hotel, with old style construction. Rooms are comfortable and well maintained. It has its own parking area. The food at the restaurant is one of the best in town. Try the chorizo and uchepos (corn tamal). This hotel is at walking distance from the mercado, where you will find food and clothing. The mercado starts very early, and most stores are closed by 3pm. I don’t remember seeing a swimming pool in the hotel, so better ask
