★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The cabins are really nice and clean. However the food was very basic... Chicken with rice without vegetables and sauce is NOT a proper dish! You'd expect more from such an expensive place...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A double room costs 3000 pesos and, given what you pay, you expect a high level experience, but everything is average and the experience it's not worth the money you pay. Breakfast is included in the rate, but you only get a plate of fruit (two bites) or a juice and ONE slice of toasted bread with butter and jam. If you want pancakes, eggs or anything else you have to pay around 160 pesos per dish. They are 60 km from the nearest ATM but they don't accept credit cards. The WiFi only works in the restaurant and when we were there didn't work the entire time and the staff didn't care at all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice hotel in the middle of the jungle. You wake up with all the jungle sounds as the rooms don't have Windows, but gaze. Only challenge is the hear at night. Only ventilators, no airco. The swimming pool then is a great chilling alternative in the morning. Also great as it is located close to the site, however it still is an hour drive at least to get to the archeological site from the entrance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We just ate at the restaurant for dinner and did not stay here. The grounds were in the jungle and the dinning room was so cool looking with the way it was decorated, rustic wooden tables, chairs and an amazing view which gave it an unforgettable atmosphere. The food however was just OK (bordering on mediocre) and the costs were some of the most expensive of our trip. For the quality it was very overpriced and a huge disappointment. With no other good restaurant options in town this was a symptom of lack of competition.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed for 1 night in a three person cabin. Very lovely place. We loved the quiet and peaceful, it was great. Quite pricey, but it was our only treat in expensive hotel during our vacation, so worth it in terms of location. Food was not to our taste, though. A special thanks to staff/management for finding our wallet and going through the inconvenience of transferring the money back to me. Highly appreciated!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You certainly feel like Indiana Jones in this place. It gets the explorer senses going as the cabins basically have no windows but just mosquito protections. It does feel a bit basic but generally it is clean which is all you want in the jungle really. The restaurant is quite overpriced and they already add service for the average food they provide - not a big fan of that practice. The American manager should really invest a little more to make it a better experience. To me it seemed like a cash cow with it being the only decent option around the area and literally all tour groups staying there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to stay when visiting Calakmul; the hotel is straight at the gate. Good but basic cabins, good restaurant with a great chef!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Place is nice, huts in the forest are well done and nicely decorated but this place is badly managed, actually it is an expensive -125 usd/night- (for Mexico standards) four star hotel run like a budget backpackers hostel. Thus it is ridiculously overpriced. For that price: wifi does not work and anyway is only available at reception and restaurant. Hot water in the morning only from 7 to 10 (any 2 star basic cabañas in the village nearby has wifi and 24hrs hot water). No credit cards only cash. At the restaurant for dinner warm beer, no botana appetizer of any kind, plain spaghetti cut into tiny pieces (!!!!) with some oil and no cheese at all, micro club sandwich, tip added without even asking (not at all the practice in Mexico even in expensive restaurants) in case you refuse, which you should as we did for such tasteless dull food. For Continental breakfast: 6 dices of melon, a quarter of an apple (in this hotel one humble apple feeds 4 customers!!!), one coffee, 2 toasts, some marmalade and 1 individual portion of liquified butter for 2 persons. To eat better and cheaper get your car and go to the Conhuas village just 2 km away and by the road try Rest La Selva, the lady there does very good quesadillas. To sleep just avoid this place which urgently needs a proper manager and to face some competition.
