Hotel Real de Chapala - 45920 Ajijic

Nice setting, right next to the lake. Rooms are clean. On google they advertise with ‚breakfast free of charge‘ as one of their services - they should definitely correct this, it‘s wrong. The opposite is true, it is rather overpriced… in the rooms you can hear anything that happens outside of them. Some of the staff at the front desk could also improve their ‚service mentality‘.

A few things: Saturday pm there was just a "parrillada" buffet no other options of food, not even for kids, overpriced for the food that was included. We ordered food form outside and a restaurant's captain gave us th ok to si in the patio , after that another manager came and told us the tables were just for the restaurant's food, they made us feel so uncomfortable,like if we wouldn't know how to follow social rules was very unpleasant ,i explained i wasn't thinking on sitting there but a manager o supervisor or captain told me "go ahead", we did ask for drinks and left tip ,of course. Next morning i called before heading to the restaurant (i paid the reservation with breakfast ) to make sure about the hours, i ask a day before as well. So we went before 9 am, the servers were drinking coffee and having breakfast, we were told no food was available till 9 am!! I was very upset, i ask a few time to very this and was supposed to be open at 8 am,but no food??? One server was very rude and told my Mom"well talk to the owner about it".... NOT THE SERVICES we were expecting. The day before I requested toilet paper and extra towel, the room only had 3 and we were 4 guest, aftwr 45 minutes abd a couple of calls i had to go to the desk, a guy walked to a storage and gave a rag for towel, really??? I left,my Mom was waiting for the towel in tje shower, the guy came after with 2 more towels, he apologized. The rooms furniture is outdated,no air conditioning, a fan that helped us through the night. Not very clear bathroom really, spots everywhere and the glass door very dirty. Overall,overpriced, i guess is because is by the lake so has a nice view.

This property is showing a lot of wear. No air conditioning, only a broken fan that didn't oscillate. Mr. Cruz in the restaurant was curt and unfriendly. Food wasn't very good. Pool area is very pretty. The breakfast ladies were very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful grounds with unobstructed views of the lake. On site restaurant and bar. Would be a great venue for a large party or special celebration.

If you want A/C you will have to pay for the lake view room. Garden rooms only have a fan. Food is ok. Drinks are good. Doing remodel during stay. Great views family friendly

Just went for an adult beverage by the lake. Pretty much same as 20 years ago. COVID misting sanitizer at the entrance. Appear very serious about prevention!

Very nice hotel with very hard beds. Nice and quiet with beautiful grounds. If the beds were softer it would definitely get a 5 star rating.

Great experience, great breakfast bar. Wide selection buffet or chef will prepare to suit. Rooms are spacious. Beautiful view of Lake Chapala. Enormous lobbys and hallways. Special event or weekend retreat, perfect getaway. The managers and chef are young though have years of experience. The staff is excellent and will make your stay wonderful. Enjoy.
