Hotel Riu Palace Riviera Maya - 77710 Playa del Carmen

This is the most fantastic all inclusive place I have spent my vacation at. Everything is superb and exceptional - food, drinks, room service, cleaning, beach service, facilities, indoor cafes, 24 lounge, absolute pleasure. Special thanks to the dozens of people engaged in this fabulous hotel operations, you do appreciate it guys. Dedicated thank you to our cleaning lady Layla, to the waitress at the indoor cafe Adreana and to many others we can’t really list here :-) 100% recommended and confirmed preferred 5* all inclusive experience!

This is an excellent all inclusive resort with some special features: the beach is incredible, silk soft sand, shade provided by dense palm trees, comfortable lounges, turquoise waters. Also the all you can eat food selection and multiple restaurants are unusually rich in variety and quality, with rotating menu items and selection. Very friendly and helpful staff. The drinks are all you can drink too. Highly recommended, feels pampered and valued.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The entertainment team was excellent and we participated daily in the aqua gym, yoga and TRX exercises. We also really enjoyed the salsa dance classes with Edgar. Food was wonderful and we had very nice experience in the Krystal French, Steak house looking at the ocean, and also the Japanese Restaurants. The food quality was beautiful and the service was impeccable. Mendez is excellent manager to all restaurants! Our executive suite was beautiful with surround view and very spacious for us for 10 days. We really enjoyed every moment! Drinks were high quality especially the martinis, Victor was an excellent waiter, and the show time lovely. Overall we felt really well taken care of with an outstanding hospitality of the staff! Our only complaint was the seaweed on the beach. I really hope the hotels together can buy a truck to remove all the seaweed. It seems a big problem all throughout the area. Can’t wait to return next year!

Thanks for a wonderful stay ? we visited for 5 days with our 2 young kids and extended family. We were pleasantly surprised by how clean everything was, and the staff was so nice and helpful. There weren’t many kids around, and the crowd was a bit older so it’s pretty quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed the food, the pool, and the beach ?. One of my favorites is the coffee bar in the lobby area. I was a frequent visitor for coffee, delicious milk shakes, and pastries every day.

This is a beautiful girl in an ideal location. The service is top notch - the while staff goes out of their way to accommodate. The rooms were a decent size, but the open concept bathroom is not ideal for me. Also, not sure if it's supply chain related with the pandemic still in play, but the food choices seemed a little limited and repetitive. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, but unfortunately, 4 out of our party of 6 tested positive for covid upon our return to the US - and yes, we were all funny vaccinated. Just consider health risks if traveling during an active pandemic, I do not blame the resort.

Pros: 1) Excellent food. Great variety. Great food staff. 2) The grounds are beautiful. Beautiful fountains, rows of palm trees. Large open spaces. 3) Shower in the room could be quite possibly the best shower i've ever used. Its awesome. 4) Great animation/kids staff 5) Great view of the ocean Just OK: 1) Reception staff were friendly but not helpful about airport shuttles or transportation. There is no hotel shuttle. 2) I used the gym once. It was fine. Cons: 1) Not enough capacity in the pools or on pool chairs. Pool chairs are nearly always all taken during the main part of the day. You can find some on the beach, but not near the pool. Signs say "Don't put your beach towels on the pool chairs to reserve them-we will remove them." But this is not enforced. People leave their beach towels on chairs for hours even if they are not there. 2) The towel exchange people were rude many times when i interacted with them. They had written the wrong number of towels down even though I had the correct number in MY HANDS. Then I went in late afternoon to exchange wet towels and was told there wasn't any. 3) The nightly entertainment is LOUD. I cannot overemphasize this. If your room is on the inside of the complex the music is BOOMING until 11 PM or so EVERY NIGHT. This is horrible if you have children trying to sleep. 4) It may have been seasonal, but the beach and ocean was full of seaweed. Made it uncomfortable to swim or walk close to the beach. 5) Housekeeping requests often took several hours. 6) Housekeeping seemed generally uncoordinated. Signs to clean the room ignored for half a day, etc

Remember to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking any room. This website will compare countless booking web sites and typically will have rooms a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later! This resort is one of the highest rated in the area. I have been coming here for years. If you decide to stay here you definitely won't be disappointed. Pleasant stay. We visited here in January 2020. The hotel had just been fully remodeled and it was gorgeous. The staff was incredible especially Victor & Angel. All the rooms had a bar. We didn’t have the best view, but we didn’t care since we didn’t spend much time in the room. I recommend trying a tequila boom boom and the mini beer shots. They kept the drinks flowing all day, and the hotel events were lots of fun. Definitely check out the White Party on Thursday if you get the chance.
