Hotel Rocinante - 36000 Guanajuato

Nice room and location. Nothing fancy but great price. They took care of parking the car for us.

The location of the hotel is good, the room is clean and the bead are comfortable, it's okay if you stay one or maybe 2 nights, the bad thing is the washroom room, it could be better.

Positive: Location is close to city centre and cutural activities. There is nothing else to recommend this hotel. Although we booked and prepaid two nights we left after the first night and moved to a better hotel in the centre.. Negative: "hotel" would be a stretch. Barely a hostel or pension. Front facing room was noisy all day and all night. Windows did not close properly and with outside temperatures in the low single figures the room was very cold. No heating at all. Curtains were so old and threadbare that you could see through them. Access to front facing room was via a narrow spiral staircase that would challenge even the fittest, and with suitcase virtually impossible. The bathroom was decrepit, shower wholly inadequate. The other room we booked for elderly parents was also without heating and no hot water in the morning. There are no cafeteria or eating facilities in the establishment. A truly unpleasant experience..

Very good location, in my opinion I would descrive it more like a hostel private room with private bathroom experience not a boutique hotel. It doesnt have A/C and one single roof vent. Bathroom very small and if you go with your fanily you need to dress and undress in the shower area.. i found it a little bit uncomfortable. Receptionist or webpage should provide info about parking more reliable or maybe even hotel should have an arrangement with a parking lot (we had one great experience with a boutique hotel in San Miguel de Allende which was also incredible cheaper compared to this one, and offered complimentary parking and nespresso coffee) we circled the city for 2 hours as we didnt get a recommendation por payed parking and the ones close to the hotel were all occupied. Staff is friendly and make up for a lot of the missing and misguided info on the booking website.

Positive: The room was cheerful.. Negative: First off, the Rocinante is incorrectly marked on most maps. It's much further down the street, close to the Teatro Cervantes. There were no English stations on the TV in the room and loud music from adjacent bars came on at 1:00 am on all three nights I was there and continued for an hour or two. I would suggest looking elsewhere unless you are hard of hearing..

Positive: It is in a perfect location and the staff was nice and helpful. The room is of a decent size and practical.. Negative: The room smelled a little damp but I noticed the same smell in other places too so I don´t know if it is related to the soil or smth. The light in the room was not very pleasing.

Positive: Central location, walking distance to everywhere :) Close to some nice bars and restaurants. Bus stop of the buses which go to central bus station on the doorstep. Our room (the cheaapest one) was very small but we got a free upgrade to a bigger room - thak you :) Nice and helpful staff. Room and bathroom clean. Big and comfortable bed.. Negative: Nothing. Everything was perfect..

Positive: Nice position. The style was pretty Mexican. Negative: Staff provided information about parking that was not clear so we ended up losing lot of time. There is valet parking available I suggest you to use it. Maintenance of the hotel could be better. There is no elevator and stairs to some of the rooms are very narrow (baggage barely passed). During the night there was lot of noise due to nearby bars and no noise insulation..
