A great place to stay with nice hot showers and a fair amount of privacy. I would strongly suggest staying here with your couple.

$300 pesitos for a room for one person with private bathroom. Good wifi, 24 hour hot water. Probably the best location and price in Sam Cristóbal.

Beautiful hotel! Friendly staff, clean facilities, hotel water, WiFi and tv in the room. 13 min walk from the ADO. The hotel is right on the main street! Next to lots of great restaurants and shops! San Cristóbal gets VERY cold at night in January! So prepare to bundle up!!!

Good clean, basic hotel on the main pedestrian street. Staff are friendly and hot water is good. In our shower the taps were opposite so it is possible to think there is not hot water.

Unfortunately we haven't read about the bad reviews about the horseback tours before we booked it. Therefore, we have also taken it and it was indeed horrible. The first few minutes go through nature, the way though is crazy steep and shouldn't be done by complete beginners (as some of our tour were). Then, the last 85% of our tour were on a street. Nothing nice to see, slippery ground for the horse. We didn't like that and told our guide we would take a collectivo back to San cristobal. He then told us on our way back we could go another way. Therefore we stayed and did go the other way, which was slightly less road and a bit more nature, still not very nice. Our guide was on his phone talking to friends non stop, not giving any information around us. He stopped several times talking to people on the street and made us go on without him, then rushing his horse to catch up with us. The highlight was when our guide received a call to make us hurry up, where he then proceeded to make the horses run downhill, even though it was already quite dangerous just going very slow (my horse slipped heavily several times). By the end, we were even asked to leave a tip. Don't do it, it's not worth it. You'll endanger yourself for nothing.

Me and my husband visit San Cristobal twice a year and we stay at San Martin almost every time, I say almost cause twice it was packed and had to go elsewhere. The service is super friendly and helpful. There's good wifi. YES the rooms are very standard, but if you check when booking this is a 3 star hotel, and you pay for a 3 star hotel, if you want fancy rooms and fancy service then pay for it!... this hotel is totally worth the price, the location is amazing, near everything! Definitely will come back.

Hola ! I just want to share my bad experience with the horse riding tour to chamula that I booked an Hotel San Martin. It costs 250pesos and starts at either 9:00am or 12:30pm. I definitely can’t recommend this tour!!! After we got to the starting point for this horse riding tour I was asked if I had experience in horse riding and I said, yes for about 10 years. So they gave me (in my opinion) one of the most unsettled horses. I really tried my best but still - after 20 min. riding you can’t know the horse really well. So there was a situation when a car crosses our way and we had to ride on the right side of the street. As my horse didn’t like the other ones and was kind of nervous before it got even more nervous because the other horses came closer and closer. So at one point it went crazy, reared and bucked until I fall of backward. My hands were bleading, I hurt my hip badly and the guys who leaded the tour didn’t even ask if I am fine or need anything. Most of the other riders also got off their horses because they also went crazy. So the guides just took the horses and went on without looking after us. From chamula we took the collectivo back to San Cristobal. The guy, that I booked with, never responded to me after untold him what happend. At all a really bad experience for me/us. I am so glad that nothing more happend ??
