Hotel Santa Regina - 36000 Guanajuato

I loved the hotel and the location. I will stay again. We had a family room and felt very comfortable with the 4 of us. The only issue was the last day. I ask for a taxi to the airport, the front desk gentleman call for a taxi waited for 30 mins. The problem was he called an Uber and not a taxi and I also saw an exchange of $ between them $200 Mexico peso. If I knew it was going to ride on a Uber I would have made it a legit ride on my phone app. Uber driver charges me 500 peso that is what a taxi charge to the airport that wasn’t the problem. So the front desk gentleman put my family at risk with a random stranger Uber driver and not a legit ride. I was with my kids too. I want to apologize to the hotel. No guess should be put under those risks without knowing.

This place was perfect for me and my family (party of 5). There was one king, and 2 full beds. We enjoy walking and exploring the town. We were 3 to 10 min walking distance from many places. Good service and friendly staff.

Nice and clean place. Service was really great Place is located under the Main Street in center. Just under the stairs in front of the hotel. Recommending definitely also because of the price and breakfast including! Wonderful breakfast. Breakfast place is located just around the corner in hotel call Hotel Casa De Don Lucas.

The location was great, close to everything you'd want to see in the historic district. No frills hotel, moderately priced. The staff was helpful In setting up a trusted driver for my wife to the airport at 0300hrs, since our flights differed drastically. Unfortunately there was construction next door and could be heard early in the morning starting around 0730. Although this didn't bother us as we wanted to make the most of our day, it could really damper the late sleepers.

The acoustics are made so you can hear EVERYTHING what is going on outside of your room. But this was ok until we figured out there is a night club across the road. At this very moment our staying turned into a nightmare.

The hotel is OK. But during check in the person from reception desk starded to talk about politics, without asking anything. I do not pay for this kind of opinion. Also, she tried to copy my credit card, who knows why, I already payed for my stay. I asked her not to do it but she insisted. Finally I just took my card out from printer.

Absolutely NOT recommended this hotel for family or for the ones who are looking for quite vacation. You wont sleep as your bed will be vibrating because of the night club right across the road. It was a mistake to stay there. Never again!

First night here. Will be leaving in the morning instead of staying 5 nights as booked. We arrived and after we paid they told us, oh by the way we don't have breakfast anymore. Then at 10:30 we find out one of the loudest nightclubs in the city is a few meters down the street. The room is literally vibrating with the music-they are open til 5 AM. No sleep tonight. On top of that we came out of the room about 5pm and it was "smokey" in the hallway but did not smell like smoke all the way to the lobby. They were spraying some kind of "disinfectant"/decontaminate that made our eyes burn and gave me a headache for several hours. No notice no warning. Still burned eyes when we got back from dinner several hours later. And to top it off the ceiling fan with light above thebed has a short and the light keeps turning itself on randomly even though the switch is off. Was almost asleep despite the racket but blasted a wake twice with the bright light. Had to turn the fan off so getting sweltering hot with no air, no fan, and the windows closed because of the noise. It is a great location if you want to spend the night in a nightclub. Personally i book a hotel for sleeping. This is a total fail!
