Hotel Sombra del Agua - 29200 San Cristóbal de las Casas

It was nice place with a court yard in the middle that is peaceful. The restaurant is also really nice doing good food and wine. WiFi was stable and good enough for YouTube/Netflix.

Reasonably priced for its location and quality of the rooms. Clean and comfortable. Walking access to everything!

Very centrally located. Some parts of the hotel is near a loud club with music blasting and some hotel rooms are not very well lit. Overall comfortable and they have a beautiful courtyard.

My boyfriend and I stayed here and fell in love with the place! Everyone who worked there was so welcoming and ready to help at any moment! At one point we had requested a bottle opener because we brought our own bottle of wine that we wanted to drink in the room and if we could borrow two wine glasses and within 5 minutes a gentleman showed up at our door offering to come inside and open the wine and pour the glasses for us we would like before leaving. We had an issue with hot water in our first room on our first night and within 3 minutes of calling the front desk there was a gentleman ready to help carry our things to our next room. The bed was comfortable and the room was beautifully decorated. The fire pits at night were so amazing and relaxing ww loved them ❤ we took so many amazing photos on site! we will be back next year!

Beautiful hotel, bang in the middle of the action. Maybe a little too close as sometimes it was a bit noisy late at night/early in the morning. Despite this, we'd definitely stay again if we were in San Cristobel de las Casas

From the comfortable beds, rainfall shower heads and artisan soap, to enjoying a fire pit in the courtyard, this hotel is by far the best place to say in San Cristobal de las Casas. The breakfasts and dinners at Tarumba are exceptional, as is the attentive service. We enjoyed the special Chef’s Tasting Menu at the Chef Counter and discovered some of the best flavors we’ve had in Mexico. Tania at the Front Desk leaves no detail behind and goes above and beyond for guests. This was my third trip to Hotel Sombra Del Agua, and I will be back soon!

Loved it. Reasonable cost, beautiful courtyard and food seemed pretty well priced. Our room was on the small side, but had everything you need and the place has oodles of character and is in the historic area.

This beautiful hotel is a haven right in the middle of San Cristóbal. An old colonial house, it has a lush central court with flowering plants and song birds where you can sit and relax or take a meal at any time of day. Our room was ample and very charming: the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had a good strong shower with plenty of hot water and large towels. We ate several meals at the hotel, all excellent, and enjoyed a particularly delicious dinner on our last night. Interesting and inventive combinations of local ingredients/preparations and very kind and attentive staff. One thing to mention is that noise can travel in the tiled corridors late at night and early in the morning with people coming and going; we were not particularly bothered by this, but it could be an issue for others. All in all, we were thoroughly delighted with this hotel and its gracious staff and would absolutely stay here again. What a delight!
