One of the receptionists was extremely incoherent and square minded arguing with me about a towel. It was so nerve racking and definitely unnecessary. His lack of good service totally changed my opinion about this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent stay in the heart of Papantla. Terrace with a city view on the one side of the building and pool with a view on the Monument on the other side. Clean room. Plenty of hot water. Really good Totonac restaurant. Enjoyed our stay here while visiting El Tajin museum.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The location was perfect. Service was great. Property was very nice and the room was clean. The rooms are very much in need of upgrades, but for the low price we paid, it would be hard to do much. The towels were threadbare in places and some of the wood trim was going bad, but the location and price mostly made up for that. The bed was very firm. Parking is down the street, but the hotel staff carried our bags from the car to the hotel. We enjoyed our one-night stay at El Tajín.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No air conditioning in room. The ceiling fan didnt work. The toilet didn't flush properly. We asked for someone to check air conditioning. The disinterested front desk person said she would send someone. After waiting one hour we left the hotel which we had paid for on Hotels.com and took taxi to Poza Rica. I do not know how this hotel has a good or even fair rating. We have travelled all over Mexico for years staying in all sorts of hotels. This place ranks as one of the worst.
