Nice, quiet with a beautiful view. No doubt this establishment is on it's way to greatness. In regards to quality and food. You get what you pay for. No complaints here.

The worst hotel in Bacalar, very expensive and the all inclusive is just bad food, cheap drinks and nothing else, also they charge me for two extra nights, they don’t want to give me my money back and they never answer the phone, I it’s a scam!!! Don’t go there!!! Be careful!!!

A beautiful work in progress. Right on the lagoon. Rooms are big and spacious. I have excellent cell phone reception and high speed internet. The views are amazing. Great place to watch the sunrise / sunset

Hotel Bacalar is a scam. What you see in the photos was nothing like the place. The walls and beds were in bad conditions and the room smelled bad. Not just that, but there were no signs of the place anywhere. And we were lost in the forest for half an hour. We called the hotel for help multiple times but no one would answer. When we finally guessed if it was the place, a boy who was about 8 years old came out and called his mother. The mother was the cleaning lady and she told us that she would take us to the room because the man in charge was not there. I said ok we'll see. We carried our things up to the room and were disappointed. I asked for a king bed with a partial lake view and instead I got two twin beds far back from the lake. I was very angry and the cleaning lady connected me through her phone with the manager and I told him I wanted to cancel because of the bad service and bad conditions of the room and I asked if he would give me a full refund which he said yes. I spoke with the reservation agency and they tried to contact the hotel for two weeks. The phone number they had in the application and online did not work, so the agency could not contact them. And they weren't answering emails either. Unfortunately, I had to contact them on Facebook and then on WhatsApp. At first, they answered me and told me that the phone number in the application muchom bby dónde estás la my lo did not work. But the agency later informed me that Hotel Pier Bacalar denied the refund. Which in total I paid more than 300 dollars. At the time I canceled they only reimbursed me half and the other half was pending for the hotel's approval, which it was denied. It is a huge scam and the worst experience I have had on my trip. Please do not stay here!! I wish I could upload pictures of the place.

The worst service I have ever seen in my life. Food took around 1 hour to come after being ordered and often arrived cold. Some of the waiters appeared to be bothered by the customers orders and the food itself was mediocre at best. Food was often out of stock and many items on the menu were not even available to order. The room itself has ac and a small kitchen and a bathroom. There is rust on all of the metal fixtures in the bathroom and also on the curtain holders. The bed was comfortable but my friends in the other room got horrible beds that felt worn down and you could feel the springs in your back. Overall, it's the worse hotel experience I've ever had and I can't recommend it, specially considering that many other options are available around the same price.

i saw the negative google reviews but decided to give the place a try anyways! The view was great on the other hand the room wasn’t. The bathroom smelled like sewerage and the Odor carried throughout the room. Luckily there is ac to keep you cool during the night. The food was okay and it was nice having unlimited drinks But not worth the money. save your money and find another place!!!

The Food is really good. Edgar, the manager; Vicky the receptionist and Eduardo the waiter, they are the most valuable assets of this place. Without them the whole experience would have been an entire mess. The view and the kayaks are also incredibly amazing. The pier with the hammocks is also incredibly beautiful and could do with more maintenance because is also one of the main assets of the place. Hire a maintenance officer and fix minor issues like: bedside light switch in room 2. Clothes hanging bar room 2. Sewage smell room 8. Power spray stones and pier to clean. Put a net up o flower bed outside room 2, it will stop birds from destroying #1 Tighten the 2 middle hammocks on the pier Clothes cupboard in rooms. Fix and clean toilet system by the lagoon Urgently!!! Setup regular maintenance checking process and system for all facilities Rope swing - replace rope, plastic is sharp and cut my partners hands leaving plastic splinters in it. Consider painting the breezeblock walls green, or offer local artists som benefits to paint on them themselves. E.g. you pay for paint and they get artistic freedom, practice amd canvass for public viewing.

It has an incredible view. The bar was great. But the overall cleaning of the entire place was just awful. The toilets didn't work. I didn't stay in the hotel, but I don't think I ever will based on what I saw.
