HYPOXIC DREAMS FREEDIVING - 77714 Playa del Carmen

I did Wave 2 with Chris and it was incredible experience! He is a great teacher and helped me to progress save and smooth. He also prepared me for a competition where I did really good dives. I highly recommend Chris as your freediving instructor.

was checking a couple of school in Playa del Carmen for the unique experience to learn freediving in the Cenote of Mexico. After contacting them and chatting with all of them I felt the answers of Hypoxic Dreams to be the more clear and the more aware of my need. And I couldn’t expect better choice, during my tuition Chris was not only knowledgeable and and excellent instructor but he also was able to focus on my personal challenge, things I was struggling with, he really put the time to help me understand what I could do in matter to get better. And the progress was exponential it unbelievable to realised what I succeed to achieve in only two weeks. I only had few experience free diving in the past and with Chris I was able to pass my Molchanovs wave 2 and reach further depth. I also liked all the chat driving to the cenotes, the quesadillas and tacos, v8 and the nutritional tips, the banana bread of his girl friend, Tesa, who is so friendly and nice to be around and an amazing freediver too, I also had the chance to dive with her. Chris is open minded, passionate and inspiring to get better at freediving. I definitely recommend hypoxic dreams if you hesitate on which school to choose in playa — this is a sure value. And you will get the molchanovs certification which is the most technical freediving recognition out there ! Also diving in cenotes is an amazing experience and got a lot of great underwater photo shots in this unique places. Even if the school is far away from the center which is why I was hesitating to join this school at the beginning, it’s only 50pesos for a taxi and 10-15min ride. Also depending on which cenote you will freedive Chris might drop or pick you up close to your place. I will look forward to dive with Chris again and will keep practicing for my wave 3 ? I have trained with Dreams freediving many times in the cenotes and I love it every time. Chris is a great instructor, super patient and always has the best feedback. He has helped me improve in many ways and I always feel safe in the water with him. Highly recommend training and taking courses with Dreams freediving!!

Chris provided me an amazing day of freediving in a really cool cenote. Everything went smoothly and I had a great time diving and hanging out. He’s a really great guy, and I can tell he knows his stuff. Would totally recommend to anyone from beginner to expert.

I did a cenote depth training session with Chris. He was attentive and was giving me feedback before and after each dive to coordinate different aspects of my technique. We had a dicussion about my EQ and sinus problems and got tips and tricks to solve them. Recommended!

I had a great time. Expanded on existing Freediving skills and drills. Chris is a very knowledgeable Instructor. He showed me beautiful scenery and I was able to experience some amazing dives. Be prepared for the taxi ride if you're staying in downtown Playa, it requires a little planning and will cost a few dollars. However the drive or taxi is very much worth it.

Chris is a fantastic free diver and sets up sessions suitable for any level, even very first time free divers. He gave us a short session about how to free dive and took us straight in to it. We enjoyed the water in a beautiful cenote and he took wonderful videos of my husband and me. Would definitely do again.
