Hotel to be avoided absolutely. We chose this hotel for its pretty photos on booking and also the description of the room (sea view). When we got there, it was the cold shower. No sea view, the wifi didn’t work, reception was only open until 5 pm, there is no one in the hotel after this hour thus there is no security and service from this hour. Catastrophic for an hotel with this expensive price. Plus, the photos do not reflect reality and are close to a lie: not really a sea view with a lot of noise due to the road just in front, rooms that are poorly looked after, a single bed sold as two places… We stayed for two hours and were not refunded. There is a scandalous gap between reality and what is sold on booking. And the manager is absolutely disrespectful and only considers his money, he insulted us by text message about our requests for refund. A shame.

This place is amazing. Very private and extremely clean. Fantastic Ocean view. Perfect place to get away from the city. The owner is a wonderful person. Highly recommend this place. Been here many times. Bobby and Malena.

I wish I could give this place even more than 5 stars. Everything- from the service, to the room, to the view- was top tier. Giovanni, the property manager, was AMAZING! He helped us with our golf carts, gave us great recommendations, set up our COVID tests, and was overall so welcoming. He truly deserves 5 stars on his own! The hotel was amazing & beautiful. We got to enjoy a complimentary breakfast each morning with views of the ocean- without even getting out of bed. We also had full access to the rooftop with total privacy, which also had great views of both sides of the ocean. This is easily the nicest (and best managed) hotel I've ever stayed in & we will definitely be back soon!

This is not a hotel. It is a room in the middle of two major roads with poor facilities. There is no front desk, no reception and zero service or facilities. On arrival, there is a stoned ramp (wheels do not work so be ready to carry luggage) and a small front office. no gate, no reception and no security. I was given my key after the room (King Suite) was ready (a little after check in hour) and upon inspection I immediately asked if I could cancel. The manner in which I was told no was quite evident that this is a common response here. The room itself is very basic. There are no doors to the washing area and no blinds or real curtains to stop the view from the toilet and front office or shared balcony. that’s right; the balcony is not private but shared with the next room so you get to see and hear them from your very open room. Unnecessary ornaments hang from the ceiling that are covered in dust, lights that once were covered in shells hang bare and the door is broken so needs to be kept closed with a stick (not ideal for a place with no security or staff after 5pm). The shower tries to be fancy with another ornate shell however this means that showering is very difficult as the water sort of trickles out randomly. No chance of hopping out and slipping into a robe and slippers because aside from two small bath towels, none others were provided; not a pool towel, beach towel, hand towel or wash cloth. I would have called reception to ask for some however… there is none. Lastly the view; the view in the photos is only accurate if you take the photo from below waist height otherwise you will see the road and passing traffic which you get to hear all night long. if you want to go anywhere it’s a twenty minute walk. you can rent a golf cart (they will charge you 1,500 when in town it’s 1,100), you can take a taxi (sometimes a long wait) or I was told ‘just take the bus’! I wish I had read the reviews properly prior to booking because I truly feel ripped off and conned. To me this felt like a complete con. Someone took some fancy photos with models posing at the right angle and charges one of the highest rates on the island for very sub standard accommodation.

The place is very beautiful and I loved the bed and pillows, are very comfy. I spent 2 nights in early june with my friends at a room in front of the ocean. There's a road in front of the place, I slept very well but my friend had some issues with some noises at night but nothing terrible. The roof is amazing and they give us a great breakfast! So delicious, the girl who made this food was really kind. The only bad part was the guy in the reception, he always seems mad and we had a mistake with our reservation cause we thought we had a 3 people room, and actually we reserved for 2, instead of help us quick, he looked mad and kind of rude, actually the kid who works with him was kind of watching us with "I'm sorry" in the eyes haha. But everything else was awesome. Is a really beautiful space. I recommend it if you're looking for something out of the city and different.

TLDR: We LOVED this place. The team was super friendly and accommodating, it was very light and airy and clean, the light street noise didn't bother us at all, the breakfast was yummy, and we loved the location in comparison to other points of interest on the island. Highly recommend! When I travel, I love to find places with some character, which is why I often opt for an Airbnb over a hotel, but I am super picky about the places I stay and the Icaco was truly so lovely and really exceeded our expectations. My partner and I took a last minute trip to Isla and we were so lucky this place was available! We really wanted to stay somewhere that felt modern, light, bright, clean and well cared for, and Icaco fit the bill perfectly. Because it was so last minute we ended up having to switch from the the king suite to the double suite, but both were really great. The property is right across the street from the shore, and all the rooms have a view of the ocean, although admittedly the second floor (king) view is better. The double beds are pretty small, but it didn't really matter to us. We didn't spend a lot of time on the roof but we did go up there to watch the sunset and it was magical. Adhara greeted us when we arrived and she was so sweet and accommodating. We were able to communicate with her via WhatsApp and she was extremely responsive any time we needed anything. The check-in and check-out process was super easy and chill. The property is located right off the street so if you're sensitive to street noise this might not be the right fit for you but we didn't find it to be disturbing in the slightest (we're from Brooklyn though so in comparison this was very quiet). I also love that it's a little bit away from the busyness of Playa Norte, which is where we spent most of our nights hanging out, and then coming back to the Icaco at the end of the night felt so peaceful. Highly HIGHLY recommend renting a golf cart though, as the property is only a short drive away from Playa Norte (like 5 mins drive) and honestly it was so much fun to be able to explore the whole island. The breakfast they offer is also a really nice touch! The fruit is super fresh, the yogurt was yummy and it was nice to have a super simple light breakfast to start each day. The only thing I would say is that the bathroom door doesn't offer any sound barrier so if you're newly dating or sensitive to bathroom noises you might not prefer this spot. That said, any time either myself of my partner had to use the bathroom we just asked the other to go out onto the balcony :) Bonus: if you plan to hit a beach club while you're on the island, go to the Green Demon because first of all, it's amazing, and second, they'll waive the 500 peso bed charge if you're an Icaco guest. Overall, this place is definitely worth the money! We absolutely loved staying here and would choose to come back in a heart beat. Thanks Icaco!!

The best thing you can do for yourself. It’s all about the details with this place! It’s a bit far from the center, but you can rent a golf cart/scooter/bikes and explore the island. There’s no actual night life on the island so having the hotel as an evening activity was super cool. Really privet and quite. The little pool on the roof is beyond perfect. Being able to see both sunrises and sunsets… I mean, come on ?

Really great hotel! Even if we had issues (e.g. one of our window shades broke), the staff was super nice, fast & helpful. The location is not perfect, but we either walked for 15 minutes to the center or used a golf cart, so it's not a huge deal. The close road doesn't interrupt, we couldn't hear a sound of it. All in all, really recommend.
