iCar Rental - 63732 Bucerías

I had a great experience with Icar. The price quoted was exactly what they charged including insurance. Very easy rental and return. They even included some CDs for our listening pleasure. Our rental was a 2009 Ford sedan which was clean and ran well. Plus we didnt look like the normal tourist driving around using an older car. Highly recommend.

Renting a car in Mexico when living in Canada can be a daunting business. Many people I know have ripped off, often by the big name car rental companies. I read some reviews on ICar rentals in Bucerias (just outside of PV) that were very positive so I phoned and spoke to Paul Hanson (a fellow Canadian who co-owns the company with his brother). He gave me an all-in price and sent me all the info necessary for the rental. He picked us up from the airport as he said he would and dropped us off on our return as we had discussed. The whole experience was stress free and the price was reasonable. I ended up leaving my phone in the car and Paul gladly Fedexed it back to me without incident. I highly recommend Paul Hanson and ICar rentals if you are staying in the PV area.

The company is run by a man from Canada, so you can expect adequate quality of service. The quote I was told at the very beginning remained the same after I return the car. Along with a great car, Paul gave me a ton of valuable tips on issues I might face during my stay in Mexico. Thanks a lot, Paul! Hope to deal with you again some time!

George and his brother Paul took very good care of us, and even left us with their mobile number in case of any problems. Everything went like clockwork, absolutely NO GLITCHES. They are trustworthy and honest, and their assistant Brette kindly drove us to the airport. We were sorry to have to leave her so soon. We will definitely be repeat customers! Best car rental experience you could ask for.

George was a really great. He accommodated us on short notice, and the last car left had some minor issues so he gave us a discount, but it drove smooth and the AC worked which was exactly what we needed. It’s a small company run by the family that moved to Mexico from Canada 15 years ago. FYI i dealt with George’s brother Paul a couple times, and he was ok but more serious and not as personable or easily accommodating as George, so I would prefer to deal with George in the future. He went above and beyond helping map out our plans of where we wanted to go the 2 days we had the car, and gave personal recommendations, overall he provided very impressive customer service. Also do to some of the quirks in the car they let me drop it off a couple hours later than when it should’ve been. Also they picked me up and dropped me off at my hotel which was about 5-10 min away. Be aware however the insurance comes with moderate deductible, which I’m told is common for the area, and from what I can only assume was due to some muddy rough roads that we took to get to a secluded beach George recommended, the lower bumper had some scratches and I had to pay a portion of the cost to be repainted, as they said they have to keep their cars in excellent condition and repair even such scratches. For a rental I would think there is some acceptable wear and tear, but overall if I caused the scratches then It is what it is... just be careful as Mexico has some roads that are pretty rough for a compact car to go, plus it had just rained before I rented the car so mud covered up where I was told the scratches were, and I didn’t know about them until the day after I dropped off the car and the cleaned it (George told me I didn’t have to wash it before dropping it off and that they would take care of it). So even with that issue which maybe is a learning experience, I would still recommend them as they are straightforward and honest, and no hidden fees. I trust them more than I would a local or big name rental company in the area.

iCar rental treated us like family. There were several different issues that arose and each time they were taken care of with thoughtfulness, assurance,flexibility, and honesty. Paul really made our stay an extra adventure and a half and we will absolutely stay in touch with him. So grateful for this service amongst all the other scams from national agencies.

Excellent personalized service and great rates. A welcome change from the large agencies. Paul, who runs the place is prompt, honest, and personable. He took extra steps to make our experience a great one. Insurance was included which is a must in Mexico. Highly recommend.

We rented from Paul in August. He is a great guy, it felt more like borrowing a car from you uncle than anything else. He picked us up at the airport, gave us lots of useful information and even kept tabs on us and our safety as a hurricane grazed the area during our stay. The car was perfect; new, clean and ran without issue. When it came time to return the car, Paul was ready to drive us to the airport and dropped us off as planned. We were only sorry we didn't have time to meet his wife over coffee or a drink. When we return to PV, we will absolutely rent with Paul!!
