It was an educational and entertaining experience! He also made recommendations for places to eat in town that were outstanding! I would recommend stopping at ICAVI early in your trip!

Good class, great teaching and a lot of fun. Alex was amazing! He speaks fluent English, and is very good at “dumbing down” the elusive wine tasting process to ordinary people’s level. We felt we have learned something about tasting in general, in addition to obtaining a bit of knowledge in Mexico spirits. The tasting was done in comparative ways and was quite helpful. We will definitely go back and taste Mexico wine if we are back in SMA again. Highly recommend ICAVI tasting classes to anyone who is interested in wine and/or spirits.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow - talk about an amazing and unforgettable experience with an incredibly knowledgeable guy, Alex Galina. The man knows his stuff (he's a sommelier in 4 countries!) and helps you learn how to distinguish quality spirits of Mexico. We learned for the first 45 minutes (who knew there were so many regions growing agave!) and then enjoyed tasting for the next 45 minutes.
A most wonderful experience - call in advance to make a reservation - or maybe you can get lucky like we did and just stop in! Make sure you have the time to relax, learn and enjoy - and then check out his back room with so many quality drinking options to take with you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I had an incredible experience at the tasting room. We took the "spirits" course and came with a greater appreciation for some of Mexico's popular and lesser known spirits. Alex was a wonderful instructor. He was extremely knowledgeable and a wonderful presenter. We came away, not only with a greater understanding and appreciation for these spirits, we also learned how to assess other types of drink. We are no experts after this experience, but our knowledge has definitely increased and our curiosities piqued. Lastly, Alex has a great selection of wonderful and hard to find spirits. You are allowed to sample any of these and purchase a bottle if you wish....we did. All in all, it was a great experience and something we recommend to anyone visiting San Miguel. Thanks, Alex.
