Sus orígenes se remontan al siglo XVII consecuencia del encuentro de dos culturas -española-indígena. Es una representación de como los naturales observaban los grandes bailes de gala que organizaba la sociedad española, con un sentido del humor comenzaron a imitar esos hábitos y con el paso del tiempo se transformó en una fiesta satírica que criticaba a los peninsulares. Los atuendos son espectaculares. A nuestros amigos de Yauhquemehcan les decimos que algún día volveremos. S	Saul Flores on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Me complace decir que la Parroquia de San Dionisio es de una Arquitectura exquisita, tanto en su exterior como su interior puedes disfrutar de una paz maravillosa, su atrio se encuentra en excelentes condiciones, a pesar de su antigüedad ya lo atestiguan las placas de difuntos con epitafios que datan del 1800. Su interior es una joya, pues tiene frescos en excelentes condiciones asi como un retablo precioso como pocos en la region. Y por supuesto, cuenta con un sagrario donde puedes hablar con Dios y agradecerle que se haga tan cercano a los hombres. I am pleased to say that the Parish of San Dionisio is an exquisite Architecture, both outside and inside you can enjoy a wonderful peace, its atrium is in excellent condition, despite its age and the plates of the dead attest to it epitaphs dating from 1800.
