Beautiful church very simple and small but at the same time very welcoming, I loved coming with my family on a very early Sunday and we enjoyed the mass in which the omilia of the father was very interesting.
L	Limberth Olsin on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Uno de los atractivos más visitados de la ciudad de Hecelchakán es la iglesia de San Francisco de Asís, una imponente construcción religiosa del siglo XVII hecha a base de cantera y sahcab por la orden franciscana. Esta edificación del Virreinato es testimonio de la conquista espiritual que sufrieron los antiguos mayas durante la colonización española; hoy en día sigue siendo un referente de la fe católica. A lo lejos puede distinguirse sus dos torres de tres cuerpos con campanarios así como su fachada con una entrada de arco de medio punto con portón ferrado y ventana coral. Caminando hacia el poniente inmediatamente podemos encontrar el exconvento que al igual que la nave del templo fue construido en el siglo XVII y que fungió como centro de enseñanza y adiestramiento de los indígenas evangelizados. En 1930 este espacio albergó la Normal Superior de Maestros y actualmente es ocupado por la Casa de Cultura del Ayuntamiento. Hacia el norte, sobre la misma plaza principal, uno puede sentir el olor del guiso más tradicional de Hecelchakán: la cochinita. Existen una serie de espacios habilitados para la venta de este platillo, que es degustado por cientos de visitantes al día, y camino a la ciudad de Mérida es paso forzoso para detenerse a saborear los deliciosos tacos, panuchos y tortas. Alrededor de la plaza se ubican diversas tiendas de artesanías en donde se pueden adquirir souvenirs hechos a base de materiales propios de la región como recuerdo de la visita a Hecelchakán. A 3 kms de la ciudad de Hecelchakán se encuentra la exhacienda Blanca Flor. Esta fue uno de los testigos y escenarios de la batalla más cruenta entre los liberales y los conservadores del estado de Yucatán durante la revolución mexicana. La personalidad de esta hacienda muestra el valor que su gente le da a este edificio histórico, restaurado por su actual propietario y que puede ser visitado ya que funciona como uno de los hoteles de clase con que cuenta el municipio. Entre las principales poblaciones del municipio se encuentran: Pomuch, Pocboc, Cumpich y Dzodzilque también preservan diversos atractivos turístico-culturales: One of the most visited attractions of the city of Hecelchakán is the church of San Francisco de Asís, an imposing 17th century religious building made from quarry and sahcab by the Franciscan order. In 1930 this space housed the Normal Superior of Teachers and is currently occupied by the House of Culture of the City Council. To the north, on the main square itself, one can feel the smell of Hecelchakán's most traditional stew: the cochinita. There are a number of spaces enabled for the sale of this dish, which is tasted by hundreds of visitors a day, and road to the city of Merida is a forced step to stop and taste the delicious tacos, panuchos and cakes. Around the square are several craft shops where you can buy souvenirs made from materials typical of the region as a reminder of the visit to Hecelchakán. Algo que la favorece es el parque que la rodea, pues es bonito y limpio, y de hecho allá mismo hay una escultura muy interesante. I liked the architecture from the outside, unfortunately we went very early and it was closed, so we could not meet it inside. Something that favors it is the park that surrounds it, because it is beautiful and clean, and in fact right there is a very interesting sculpture.
