En terrenos de Temapache está el templo de Santiago apóstol, cuya construcción inició Fray Junípero Serra en 1540, habiendo sido terminado en 1576. Se asegura que los cimientos son tan profundos como lo alto de los muros y que hay grandes sótanos, cual enormes salones subterráneos cuyos accesos han quedado bloqueados por piedras y lodo a través del tiempo.

On the grounds of Temapache is the temple of Santiago Apostle, whose construction began by Fray Junípero Serra in 1540, having been completed in 1576.
