★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Plaza de la Independencia is a typical Mexican colonial square. It features a grand church and arcade government building and colorful mansions of the richest citizens of the city. There is a park in the middle of the square and a typical kiosk. All very standard stuff for Mexico, but this plaza is very well maintained as are the buildings around it giving it every pristine, fresh look.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was very pretty here, especially inside the cathedral. Unfortunately, many places were closed and there weren't any signs to mark when they would be open. There were also a lot of people trying to sell us things while we were walking, but they left us alone after a quick, "no, gracias"
