★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We will not forget Indio and his wonderful family! When we arrived all of the seats were taken, but we were invited to take a table in their simple family space inside the building. We had the large sharing platter, and what a joy it was: grilled shrimp, coconut shrimp with 2 amazing sauces, local fish served grilled and also with chorizo topping, squid, steak, vegetables and more. We knew it was going to take awhile to produce all those dishes, but oh man it was worth the wait! Indio stopped by a couple of times to chat, and you just know he's a sincere, kind, and humorous man. They're going to need a bigger restaurant. I'll be glad to say "I knew them when they were small." Thank you for an amazing evening! (Bring tequila so you can try their margaritas.)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This little seafood restaurant serves the best seafood in Cozumel, in my opinion. Price is very reasonable, seafood is fresh, food is extremely yummy, and best of all, the owner and his family are very warm, friendly and gracious.
I had eaten here twice and would come back again and again.
Thank you for the yummy seafood. A happy tummy is a happy me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ From information on Google reviews we went here. You eat what is offered that day we has the lobster shrimp platter. Great food and great owners, they make it a personable and enjoyable time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a delightful family style meal at Indio's for dinner. Besides the food being fantastic, we felt like valued guests. Everyone in my group of six loved the food, but said that even if they hadn't, they still would've loved the experience. HIGHLY recommend.
As another review mentioned, BYOB is an option - though they also have at least a few soft drink options. Unsure about whether booze is regularly available.
We made a reservation for our table using whatsapp and the phone number posted on the website. We asked for octopus along with the other options actually listed on the site, and we got all of the things we asked for. So if you know there's something you want, ask! Or, better: acquire it and drop it off!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Indio's is super dope. For how close to the tourist square it is, it's as local as it gets. Indio cooks what he's got. If you want a Fanta, he'll send his son to go get you a Fanta. Gave him a phat tip and he reciprocated by pouring us some Tequila shots from his kitchen to go. Oh and the food is awesome! Cheers to Indio's!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Got the platter for 2, came with something like 8 different seafood samplers (sampler doesn't do justice just how much food was present). Everything was pretty good, including the agua fresca and guac. If you're looking to gorge yourself with yummy seafood, this spot, and esp the Iowa platter (no clue why it's called that) is a good choice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We can't say enough about our experience with Indio and his family. This was a 10/10 experience for us and topped off a great trip to Cozumel.
We searched on Google for a good place to have some authentic Coconut Shrimp and we did not want to go to any of the tourist places close to the water to get ripped off. We had a scooter and drove to Indio's around 5pm to see where the place was.
It's just a 10 minute walk from the sea or a 5 minute scooter/cab ride. Indio came out to greet us and we told him we would be back at 7pm for dinner. He asked us what we wanted to eat and we told him Coconut Shrimp. He said no problem, see you at 7.
We came back at 7pm and Indio and his family greeted us and we sat down at one of the tables they set up (this restaurant is attached next to their home). They brought out some fresh guacamole and chips and we can see them working away in the kitchen. They were grating the coconut and we found out that Indio had actually sent his son out to buy a fresh coconut for our dinner request after we talked with him earlier in the day.
The Coconut Shrimp was absolutely delicious...so fresh and so tasty. Eating at Indio's is like eating at your friends house. They make you feel so welcome and they are so gracious that you have chosen to come and eat at their place.
We were both so satisfied with our dinner (we also brought our own wine) and the friendliness of Indio and his family. Our whole meal cost $380 pesos (guac & coconut shrimp). That's the price of 1 dish if you eat closer to the water.
If you are on the island for a visit, do yourself a favour and visit Indio. You won't regret it. There are so many great and cheaper options if you just get out of the tourist zone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We heard people recommending this place. It took me 3 days to find it. Somehow other restaurants had similar names…
My wife ordered coconut shrimps and I had some red snapper filets. Pretty simple cooking but extremely well prepared! We were both very satisfied at this hole in the wall kind of place separated from the street by reused wood pallets… The family is heart centered and welcoming. Certainly a unique place to eat at!
