★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El INEGI fue un pionero en establecer una estructura organizacional descentralizada, vislumbrando la necesidad de operar las actividades de recolección, tratamiento y difusión de datos de en los ámbitos regional y estatal, ya que el Sistema Nacional de Información Estadística y Geográfica requiere producir información en consonancia con las características y necesidades de cada región. En esa tónica nacen las 10 direcciones regionales, ubicadas estratégicamente en el territorio nacional.
La Dirección Regional Occidente fue creada el 5 de julio de 1984, ubicando en la ciudad de Guadalajara su sede y con un ámbito de responsabilidad de los estados de Colima, Jalisco, Michoacán y Nayarit, logrando cercanía con los informantes, ciudadanos y usuarios de la información a nivel regional y estatal.
La Dirección Regional, adscrita a la Dirección General de Coordinación del Sistema Nacional de Información Estadística y Geográfica, tiene como principal objetivo desarrollar, en el ámbito de su competencia, el Sistema Nacional de Información Estadística y Geográfica, así como proporcionar los servicios de información que apoyen los procesos de planeación y toma de decisiones de los sectores público, privado y social.
INEGI was a pioneer in establishing a decentralized organizational structure, envisioning the need to operate data collection, processing and dissemination activities at the regional and state levels, since the National Statistical and Geographic Information System requires producing information in line with the characteristics and needs of each region. In that tonic the 10 regional directions are born, strategically located in the national territory.
The Western Regional Directorate was created on July 5, 1984, locating its headquarters in the city of Guadalajara and with a scope of responsibility of the states of Colima, Jalisco, Michoacán and Nayarit, achieving closeness with the informants, citizens and users of the information at regional and state level.
The Regional Directorate, attached to the General Directorate of Coordination of the National Statistical and Geographic Information System, has as its main objective to develop, within the scope of its competence, the National Statistical and Geographic Information System, as well as to provide the information services that support the planning and decision-making processes of the public, private and social sectors.
