★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the opportunity to make the closing of the exhibition of the French painter, Thibault Barrère at the Appel Gallery last week and was I glad I did! Not only was this an impressive show of paintings by a fine artist whose work awed me with its skill and luminosity in depicting the human form, but the gallery itself possesses a very formidable collection of world renown contemporary Mexican artists worth the visit itself. The gallerist, Irma Appel curated a great show and herself is a scion of the Mexican art world, and a delight to meet and talk to. Highly recommended!
