Ixtapa Baby Turtle Release in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo - 40880 Zihuatanejo

On our trip to Zihua, we wanted an experience that we would remember forever. We got JUST that with our private tour with Julio! It was 1000% worth the extra money for the private tour with him. Julio was intelligent, spoke great English and was super knowledgeable about the history of Zihua and sea turtles. Julio picked us up promptly from our hotel and we took a 1 hour drive south through some small towns while Julio explained the history of each town and surrounding areas. After arriving in Petatlan, we took an 8 mile drive on dirt roads through coconut, mango and banana farms before arriving at the lagoon. We then hopped a panga for a short trip across the lagoon to Playa Valentin. There, we were educated about sea turtles and got to check out multiple nests. There was a nest of eggs that hatched the day before and we were able to hold them and release 86 baby sea turtles into the ocean. All the while, julio was taking pictures and videos with our phones. Very humbling and unique experience we will never forget! We even ran into julio a few days later in Ixtapa and he offered us a ride back to Zihua and introduced us to a friend of his who owned a silver shop (after talking about my silver hobby with him during our day trip a few days earlier) Highly recommend!
