★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Due to a complicated family life I travel to Ixtapan de La Sal almost every two months I have tried every other hotel and I can honestly say there is no place like the Marriott. Their staff is very professional and the guests are treated with respect. The property is immaculate and even has an on-site chapel. There is an excellent restaurant and many activities for families to enjoy. I just wanted to say thank you to the staff for always making my family feel like family. I will continue to stay here as long as I have to return to Ixtapan de La Sal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This resort is an easy getaway from Mexico City, Toluca and surroundings.
Superb service and attention, lots of amenities for families with young and older kids, large grounds all nested in a semi private area. Even on a rainy day, the activities room with pool tables, table tenis, etc serves as a good alternative to the many outdoor activities. An indoor pool and large kids playroom makes this resort perfect for families with small children. There is even an outdoor amphitheater which seemed to be used for children’s theater (Although is wasn’t been used at the time of my visit).
For the grown ups there is a adults only pool by the spa, tenis and basketball court, a bar, Starbucks, etc.
The hotel itself it’s a little outdated, and their rooms could use some improvement. Nonetheless, a good value hotel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ while I understand that waiting time before checking in is long, this is ridiculous, and it's not only that ever since the pand€m/c they of have focused on getting people's money but not provide them what they promise. And not enough ©0V!d precautions to make up for it either. such a shame that there was such a culture shift focused only on the money to the point it's not even worth 4 stars. I used to like this place

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything was leisurely during our stay at Marriot Ixtapan de la Sal. I'd booked a night since I had a day off and stayed an extra night because we were enjoying our stay so much!!!
The kids enjoyed swimming non stop while I relaxed by the pool.
Excellent service all around: super friendly and helpful staff, excellent food, clean room, comfortable beds and pillows, nice gym.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ really poor food experience. really bad, not complaining about covid measures, but the food, the food was awful. paying usd 7.50 plus tax plus propina for a quesadilla (very bad one, by the way) and a 200 ml "orange juice" which is everything else but orange juice... not good.
the sheets on the bed terrible. not even 200`s.... the place looks good, the views great. the parking service with extra cost and a small scratch on my SUV front bumper.... come on! I should get a full refund.... I expect someone of you to get in touch soon!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The service in the restaurant was lacking. The buffet was excellent. The same drink could be ordered from the bar several times and come in different glasses. they do not all hold the same amount of the drink. This angered me as each time I ordered the amount of the drink went down, but the price stayed the same. After looking at the fine print I realized that room service and or ordering in the restaurant had a 15% gratuity already added to the price. This may be the reason the service sucked. They don’t have to provide excellent service as they are already getting their tip. They came to clean my room every day, but never changed my sheets!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The most important thing to know before you visit this hotel is that they don't have air conditioning in the rooms. Keep that in mind, becauase Ixtapan is a warm weather site and it can get pretty hot.
If you can sleep through the heat and noise, then this place is for you.
