Largest and best quality Alebrijes Workshop in town. They mostly focus on large and custom made orders, but your is free and very educational. Also have a gallery in downtown Oaxaca. Expensive, but if you are looking for very best this is it.

Master Jacobo’s great contribution to Mexican culture is exceptionally prolific and visionary. Don’t leave San Martin Tilcajete without visit his workshop and restaurants, specially his outdoors smoke kitchen called Almú.

Probably the best place to see artists create Alebrijes in the highest standard. Other places are cheaper, so beware that you're entering the world of the highest standard artist for this craft. Worth a visit, worth buying something, but also don't forget to pass by a few others in the village - it's a nice contrast and reality check.

What a great experience learning about the process of alebrije making! Our guide was bilingual and cracking lots of jokes! Highly recommended!

Excellent place/school to discover how alebrijes are created established by two famous Mexican alebrijes artists. They also sell alebrijes created in this workshop but they are extremely expensive.

Great (probably) the best place to go in this villages. Quality handworkers (more then just woodwork) and great tourguides. We had a private tour and where amazed by the knowledge. The tour takes about 45 minutes and there is all the space for questions. Would love to come back again! 100% satisfied experience!

Drove 50 minutes just to see this place and it was well worth it. The master artists and craftspeople are amazing to watch, and the tour is free. It ends with a plethora of art to purchase that supports local artists. Also want to thank Javier for the tour, he was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, taking the time to answer all my annoying questions.

Awesome place if you can make it. We visited, took the tour and purchased a few items. The prices were fair compared to what we saw in the city. We also purchased the painting class option for the kids and they loved it. Give your kids a solid 45 minutes for painting. Super informative and interesting. Luis was our tour guide. Super nice. ?
