Very pleased. We took the tour of Zinacantan and Chamula ($210 per person and well worth it). The guide spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable about the local culture. We also appreciated that he had some very interesting commentary about Mexico, the position of native people, the current challenges the country faces, etc. The tour was very well organized and executed. Would happily return to take another tour from Jalapeno.

I booked a tour from San Cristobal to Palenque.... The driver didn't speak any English at all even though there were mostly tourists from other countries like myself not speaking very good Spanish if it all. He would give lots of information in Spanish to the few Spanish speakers, leaving the rest of us completely clueless and apparently not caring at all that we couldn't understand a word he was saying. Furthermore, when I let him know that I needed to make an urgent bathroom stop, he completely disregarded my request. He kept saying we would get to a bathroom shortly but it was a good three hours from the time we left San Cristobal to the time we actually stopped at a restaurant and I could use the bathroom. It was absolute torture. Then on the return trip, same thing... I was leaving from the ADO bus station and asked to use the bathroom there but he said something in Spanish which I could only barely understand to be something further up the road but had no clue how long that would be. Fortunately it wasn't very long but it was very frustrating not understanding how long it would be until the bathroom stop. I've lived in Mexico for a year now so my Spanish isn't terrible but it's not good enough to understand these drivers who speak very fast and don't seem to care whether we get it or not. Furthermore, these tourist vans, like so many other public transport vehicles in Mexico, are freezing cold and you have to be sure to come with blankets and ski caps and jackets to be comfortable. In the future, when going any kind of distance, I will stick to ADO and other buses where there's a bathroom on board! The final insult was that he dropped me in the middle of town very late at night telling me he had no instructions to take me to my hotel whereas he was taking other people to their hotels. Probably only the Spanish speakers. I am very unhappy with my experience with this company!!!

We used Jalapeño tours to do the Palenque tour, leaving at 3.30am and arriving at the first stop at 8.30am. Personally I would say its a good way to see a lot in a short time. There were three stops: Agua Azul, Misol Ha and the third stop which is the ruins. Each stop was wonderful, but by the third the tiredness starts to set in a little. I planned to sleep on the 5 hr bus journey- this was unfortunately impossible. Seats do not recline, there are speed bumps every couple of meters, driver keeps all windows open for ventilation, and music is playing the whole time. Second tricky point was the fact that Jalapeño tours do not and will not speak any other language than Spanish, which is fine - their country, their right. This did however lead to confusion regarding getting picked up at the end of the ruins activity. The ruins tour guide was only speaking in Spanish and so we decided to make our own way around the site (standing around in the heat for 20 mins at a time not understanding gets tiring really quickly). We eventually circled back around to the entrance and waited to get picked up. The bus was in fact waiting 3 km down the road, for a reason that we still do not understand. (Our theory is that the tour guide took the group a different way out, but they forgot to communicate that with us?) They eventually came to pick us up, driver was not pleased. ?‍♀️ We arranged to be left in Palenque and to be picked up for the return journey 2 days later. They were happy to arrange this and I would say its worth organising your time this way. To do two 5hour journeys in one day that are so uncomfortable is... unnecessary. 3/5 for the discomfort of the van and for the unapologetic lack of linguistic accommodation. (Gestures would work just fine!) I would still say this is the better way of seeing Palenque.

Airport transfer I ordered the day before never arrived. Tour company was not responsive as to whether transfer was arriving or not. In either case I had to leave and scramble to find a taxi to make it to my flight. Don’t book with this agency if you want to make it to your flight in a timely fashion

We took a 4 day combination tour. The price was very good. The coordination of some of the meal stops could have been a little better. Also, be aware almost all tours are in Spanish only. A good value for seeing a lot of Chiapas.

Best price we found to go to the “Cañón del Sumidero” from SCLC. Everything went smoothly and on time on the tour. I recommend their services :)

Fantastic trip to the Sumidero Canyon. We were a little nervous as saw some bad reviews, but we had no problems in the slightest. Picked up on time, great driver, fantastic tour and transport home was good. Plus all for a very good price. I would highly recommend this trip.

Saw some negative reviews of this place, but our experience was perfect. Left and got back on time. Friendly and safe bus driver. The canyon boat ride was incredible. Excellent value for money. Only possible downside was the bus driver and boat driver both didn't speak much English, however the bus driver made sure to come round to all non Spanish speaking customers with Google translate to let us know anything important, such as where and when to meet for the drive back.
