JM Rentals - 77600 San Miguel de Cozumel

Rented a jeep. No seatbelts, missing mirror, radio/AC/air/entire dashboard (fuel gage included) did NOT work. Drivers seat was broken and could not be adjusted from almost flat laid back. It was very uncomfortable and unsafe. A responsible adult would have refused immediately upon sight. We had waited so long for them to process our reservation that we just kept it. Paid $70 for less than 12 hours and that does NOT include collision insurance. Passed a ton of other people driving good looking rentals. One star for the very friendly employees.

This was the worst experience of our life. We had our two small children with us and paid for a ferry to Cozumel for the day plus a car rental. Three hours later we were done because of how horrible this place was! We paid for a car and it was not the car we received. We paid for an automatic and got a Manuel. After an hour and half they went and found a “ semi Manuel” which means the Drive did not work so we could only drive the island in 1,2,or 3. We asked for money back and they refused. The battery light came on 29 mins in and we were afraid to go any further hen we got back they had the nerve to say we needed to fill the tank!!!!! If I could figure out to post pictures of this trash dump they called a car I would. We felt scammed and will never return to Cozumel all because of this.It totally tainted the island for us.

Manuel is a great guy. we rent a scooter and a car without id and driver license

Warning. Car although looked normal was dangerous. Suspension not working. Seat belts were laugh..., when i drove more than 60, car was jumping... at the end they were arguing for 2 liters of petrol...becouse car fuel usage was enourmous. 18 liters for 63 kilometers in smal car and fuel gauge was not working..... DO NOT RECOMEND

We really enjoyed our scooter rental. Reasonable prices. Great scooter and service. They didn’t even laugh at me as I learned to ride it.

We negotiated $20 per scooter for an evening ride. The location will stay open late or meet you back at the shop after hours to return the scooters so you will have extra time to rent and ride. Most of the renters are trying to get away with charging up to $55 per day to rent a scooter. Don't fall for that! You should NEVER pay more than $20 for a full day rental (no matter their excuses for trying to get more money from you), and we even should have even negotiated a lower price because, by the time we rented, it was around 4pm and we were returning the scooters at 8pm. Of the 3 scooters we rented, 2 of the 3 had non-working speedometers, one scooter had lots of loose plastic trim that rattled the whole time, and one of the 3 scooters only had 3/4th tank of fuel, but they wanted it returned full. CAUTION: Almost EVERY gas station on the island will try to rip you off when you refuel a vehicle or scooter. Pemex guys filled our tanks then days we owed them $385 pesos. I yelled at them that we were not stupid and stop screwing with us, immediately they shrank back and printed a fuel receipt for $105 pesos (about one fourth what they tried to scam us out of). It's ridiculous that these idiots prey on tourists thinking we're stupid. Please remain vigilant and don't fall for these types of scams. It only encourages them to do it more and more.

Scooter provided was in rough condition with poor steering, odometer and speedometer not working. Rented to me at 4PM knowing my purpose was to visit San Gervasio Mayan Archeological Site which closes at 3:45 PM. Returned scooter after 90 minutes but not willing to give a discount for any of the above reasons. Would suggest an alternative rental business unless you get a newer, working model.

Be very careful with this place. They gave us the scooter with a half tank and expected us to return it full. We arrived slightly late in returning the bike and they wanted to charge us another full day. The worst part was the helmets given were way too big for both of us (literally flying off our heads when we drove) . We asked them to change to smaller helmet sizes and they said they don’t have any? Dangerous for a business to provide customers with inappropriate safety equipment.
