Great place, excellent service, tasty food. From the welcoming service they bring at your table almost as soon as you arrive with bread and some spreads (butter, a couple of spicy ones, mustard and a sweet pinky one that tasted really good), to the great flavor of their cook that's also served in a very reasonable amount of time, good beverages and desserts (ask for the Viennese Chocolate Cake), this is a Must Visit place in Ajijic. They accept credit/debit card and cash. Plus, If you're always the main course for mosquitoes, don't worry, the restaurant gives you a repellent that not only works like a charm but also doesn't smells bad. Also, there's a lovely blonde cat that visits you from time to time at your table. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back soon.

It was our first time here. The food was fantastic! Service was very friendly. We will definitely return in the future. They have indoor seating and really cute seating as well out in the front and back of restaurant. There is easy Street parking like 95-98% of the time. Even thought it was our first time there, every time we've driven by, I've always seen spots, might be a little harder on Wednesday since the Tiangis is close by, but still very highly possible to find.

The salmon and shrimp were delicious, as was the asparagus soup. We all really liked the German beers as well, specifically the Hats Dunkles Weizen. Definitely plan on returning.

I used to love this restaurant, the setting great, the food good and service efficient. But yesterday the food was lame. The bratwursts, used to be 3 pieces of varied sausages, now it was just one, and it was not fully cooked. The Weiner schnitzel was terrible. It came out too fast which makes me thing it was pre-cooked. It was tasteless, no caper sauce, just some cold capers thrown in top for decoration. The potatoes looked like breakfast leftovers, bland no seasoning on them. The salad had no dressing and even the German slaw was just tasteless. Nothing was tasty or hot, not even the bread. The service was non existing. The girls were more about chatting with each other than taking care of us. When I asked for the bill, they asked that their tip be left in cash. It was a joke, I will not be back!

This is the 3rd time I come, and seems the service just went from bad to worst. Wait times on getting another beer, getting the check to be collected, etc go beyond acceptable. Their was a young man, more up beat and willing to help, but the girls didn’t really care.

Nice low-key German restaurant with good authentic-ish German food Set back off the main Carretera, Johanna's is one of those restaurants that's easy to miss if you're just driving past. With a nice outdoor seating area and a warm, friendly welcome, the atmosphere is actually more Latin than German. Nevertheless, the beer selection is good and the dishes on offer are actually far more authentic than I've found in a lot of places. Prices are fair for what's on offer and this restaurant is definitely worth a look if you have a taste for Wurst or Schnitzel. I'll be back.
