Jungle Lodge Boutique Hotel - 77774 Tulum

A delightful escape for a couple of a spiritual retreat group. Temazcal built on site. Pools from a large by the front to long lap with Gauthier areas for small "break out" conversations. Wifi but really a place to nourish the senses and the heart and unplug. Housekeeping is very nice and good at their work. General staff was already friendly and accommodating. Things it can use. Sign at the road. Indirect lighting and some reading lights in all accommodations this was missing. Overhead or nothing. A light switch on the vine lamp in the bedroom so it doest need to be unplugged. Costs qr for the mini bar. Restaurant staff out 2nd night kept disappearing to the kitchen. We had to go knock to get them at one point.

This hotel nailed it in every area that matters. The staff and service was excellent, the aesthetic is modern and clean and beautiful, and the food was actually really good and very reasonably priced. I would definitely return to this hotel again however for those who do not like spiders you may want to pick a different hotel; we had some quite large spiders in our bathroom on multiple occasions ?

The hotel itself and the property is beautiful. We had a villa for one week which is super comfortable and luxurious. However, there are a couple of negative points about the hotel: first, it is very hard to find and simply impossible to reach without a car. We had one but still had trouble because there is not a single sign. We complained about it upon arrival and the manager said that they usually send maps to guests (we did not get one and also met other guests not having received one). Second, the service is subpar for a 5 star hotel. The complimentary breakfast consists of some fruits and one (!) homemade bread per person. It was a little disappointing although on most days it was enough to start the day. We would also not recommend the hotel to anyone who is afraid of spiders or similar animals. We had a variety of them in the villa, even two little scorpions (which might have been poisonous or not). Overall, it was still a great week!

Unfortunate to write this review as I was really looking forward to my stay here. I booked through Airbnb 8 months prior to my travel and we were overly excited to stay at what looks like a really beautiful place. Our Airbnb host was unresponsive the entire time from questions we had, to needing to make a date alteration due to changes in our flights. Still, a month after our request, our host has not responded to us after several attempts of contacting him, which has now eventually led us to cancel our reservations altogether close to our travel dates and with minimal options left. I write this review because prior to booking through Airbnb, I looked through the reviews on google first and all were mainly positive so I don't mean to fault the properly nor the staff, but just simply as a warning on booking through Airbnb.

Beautiful Villa/Hotel. Friendly staff, beautiful rooms and views. Stayed in the Grand Villa with two king beds, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and our terrace with pool. Occasionally you will see a gecko run away but they were little. The scenery was filled with exotic birds, butterflies, lizards ? ? and the sounds of peace and nature. Though if you go to this villa it’s best to drive here. It’s hard to find the first time because there are no signs saying Jungle lodge anywhere or arrows leading the way. When you get off Chemuyil exit keep driving until you see the Estrella sign. Go inside and just follow the path. The first left you see make that left turn and keep going down till you see the first brown gate and voilà!!! You made it! So if you wanna have night activities and etc it’s better and cheaper to rent a vehicle and you can ask Mr Max Dubois to arrange any excursions you would like to do. Other than that I enjoyed my time there.

Friendly host and beautiful place. The hotel has also a bar and restaurant. It is somehow difficult to find, I don't think there are enough signs placed on the road to guide you. You can find many different animals, bugs, birds etc. We saw a raccoon on the first night, another night a scorpion on the road when we came back from the restaurant. Our room did not had air-conditioning, it was not mentioned in our booking but we kind of expected to be there. Some rooms do have air-conditioning, keep in mind if this is important for you. There was also a minibar with plenty of options to choose from.

We enjoyed our 4 days here so much we didn't want to leave. Very quiet and relaxing place with delightfully friendly staff and helpful whenever you need anything. Great food and coffee in the cafe with a romantic vibe at night. Definitely recommend for couples. It's right down the way from multiple cenotes in the town of Chemuyil with rich history and cultural beauty. You may want to have a rental car for your stay, as taxis out we're a little expensive (at least for our budget), and it is a bit a of a trek through the jungle out to town or something and i wouldn't recommend making the trip in the dark on foot.. It was really hard to find, so make sure to try to get a look at the map they provide. Though we couldn't get our map to open after receiving, Hugo, the manager, took our call right away and gave us great directions. The only thing I would recommend as a critique is better signage to find the place. Thanks Jungle Lodge!
