This place was one of my favorite places I’ve stayed in my while road trip throughout Mexico. Palenque is pure magic! After a very long drive from san Cristobal I was having a hard time finding a place for me a dog to stay. The reception was kind and welcoming to us both. this place is very rustic yet comfortable and sooo peaceful. You feel like you are camping in the middle of the jungle with all the amenities of a hotel : hot shower, clean bed, and great restaurant and bar just a short walk over the bridge. It’s probably the closest place you can stay to the ruins.

Nice garden in the jungle, l enjoyed to stay in this place. The only thing annoying was the noise of the bulldozer working nearby and some neighbor putting loud music at 2 in the night

Simple but comfortable cabañas with shared bathrooms and showers which (surprisingly!) had hot water :) The best value in the area!

A bare minimum kind of place. They forgot to note our reservation, so we didn’t have a room when we arrived. We got offered a bed in a dorm where people were smoking inside. When we finally got a private the next day, the mattress was incredibly bad

It's exactly what I expected for the price, its in the jungle and as basic as it gets. You can walk to the ruins and you get a collectivo into town and back easily. Staff were friendly. Obviously not perfect but at the price and the location(as long as you are happy being in the jungle and everything that comes with it)can't really complain about anything. Didn't realise at the time but you can contact them through Facebook or WhatsApp and make a reservation, I didn't want to just just turn up in case they didn't have any rooms available so booked somewhere close first that was a lot more expensive and not really worth the money.

This is THE place to stay in Palenque! Private cabañas are 150$ per night (200$ for 2 people), dormitories are 80$ & private cabañas with private bathroom are 350$ for 2 people). Facilities are clean & rooms are spacious and pretty, especially the ones with a terrace facing the river. There is hot water, too. Sadly there is no wifi, but you can go at the restaurant Don Mucho (2 minutes away by foot) where you have very good signal. This way, once you’re at home you can log-off from the online world - a nice treat. The only true downside of this place is that it doesn’t have a kitchen - if it would have had one I would have probably stayed even a month (I got away with 10 magical days). Luckily, there are 3 places at walking distance (2 minutes) where you can have food anytime in the day from 7am. Food is good and cheap. I like to dine at night with a soup which is about 40$ ? Also, the lady from Jungle Palace is such a sweet soul. & you can also do you laundry here, it’ll be ready the next day. You’ll fall in love with the people and the place shortly I’m sure! As a bonus, being so close to nature, you encounter its inhabitants daily. Squirrels, capybaras (like in the photo I posted here), colourful butterflies, hummingbirds and, if you’re lucky, you may also see howling monkeys (surely you’ll hear them!). I very much recommend this place when staying in Palenque!

The place is great and the staff are very nice but there is a huuuuge construction right next door. It starts at 6am and goes until 9pm. There are no window panes in the windows, just a mosquito net, so the construction noise is incredibly loud. I can't recommend this place until the construction is over.

The hostel is very well placed. In the middle of the jungle, close to a river with waterfalls... And the prices are very affordable. Note that as it's exposed to the river and the jungle, it's also exposed to moskitos! Prepare yourself accordingly (: A few cons: - mattresses are very soft, probably old, and I have to say not comfortable for sleeping. The fans in the dorm barely work, so the night is hot. - there is almost never hygienic paper in the toilets, even after asking for refill.
