★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best Asian restaurant we've tried in Playa Carmen, and we tried many. The dishes are well balanced, fresh and with a real taste of Thailand.
And best part is the staff working there, Vanessa, Luis and all the team are so welcoming and competent...it has been a pleasure every time we came for dinner !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Extremely disappointed by the food at Kobma. Its logo says “authentic Asian food” — but it’s nowhere near authentic. I’m Asian, so I should know. If they’d marketed their food as modern, fusion Asian cuisine, I would have had lower expectations.
The Yellow Curry was probably one of the worst curries I’ve ever had and their Pad Thai was more Mexican than Thai. The Thai tea was nothing like I’d expected. I asked for chili sauce and even that was not spicy at all.
Plus the restaurant is way overpriced. Mains are around 200-300 Pesos, more than what other Asian restaurants in Playa del Carmen charge.
Service was not great either. There were only 2 more tables besides us, and yet we waited 20minutes for our mains. I don’t think we’re ever coming back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was walking past with my family as it's my wife's birthday today, and I said let's try this restaurant for a change and it was the best choice ever, service excellent and wow. The food was amazing, never tasted food like this before. Waiter gave very good recommendations, when in Playa del Carmen again shall return.

I was really pleasantly surprised by the creativity and quality of all of the dishes. Plus, the dishes came with lot of veggies and I was really craving vegetables after 2 weeks in Mexico.
Favorite:
-spicy Manila clams: great flavor, I could have cleaned the whole plate!
- catch of the day: fish was really tender. Seasoning was tangy and sweet, but did not overpower the fish.
- pad kee mau: the noodles were on-point, loved that it came with so much vegetables! Totally hit the spot.
They also have a great drink menu. The staff made me custom ice tea brewed from a fresh herbal tea. It was really refreshing! Highly recommend!
