About Kurimanzutto

The Show is Over, the group show curated by Gabi Ngcobo Curatorial Director at the Javett Art Centre at the University of Pretoria (Javett-UP), in dialogue with Oscar Murillo.

Working and thinking from historically connected localities, the artists included take personal approaches to the subject of global politics through gestures of refusal and mourning that establish active and refreshed relationships with the history of power. The Show is Over confronts the reality that notions of the end of the world are both constantly evolving and more present than ever before, so that the end of the world has become an event evolving over time.

Artists involved include: Karimah Ashadu, Simnikiwe Buhlungu, Anawana Haloba, Banele Khoza, Donna Kukama, Moshekwa Langa, Tessa Mars, Misheck Masamvu, Santu Mofokeng, Santiago Mostyn, Las Nietas de Nonó, Ishkar Richard, Mmakgabo Helen Sebidi, and Luana Vitra.

Beautiful art gallery designed by Mexican architect Alberto Kalach. The building used to be an industrial bakery. Kalach renovated the building with an interior courtyard that lets in ample local, Mexico City sunlight. I was more interested in the space than the art collection. The interior wood design also evokes Japanese architecture.

An amazing place to go visit, architectural speaking. I totally recommend the current exhibition "never free to rest", which is until Dec. 16 2017. If you are a foreigner and speak Spanish sign up to its newsletter since it has Spanish walkabouts some days a month.

Amazing art space, probably the most beautiful art gallery around. Currently Sarah Lucas wich was a very nice expo. This gallery is clearly a big player so big names and a state of the art curatorship. Not to miss for an art lover when in Mexico city...

Small but beautiful gallery. We enjoyed it a lot. Entrance was free. There is a good collection of books to buy. So relaxing place. Loved it.

There is no sign. You need to knock to be let in. It's free. Very cool gallery, but pretty small. You can see everything in 15 min max.

Amazing little gallery great for a short walk-in visit. The exhibitions will vary but what I loved what I saw in my visit. The space itself is architecturally unique and airy. Be sure to visit the little store, which has a great collection of past artists.
