★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I highly recommend L&C for an in-person Spanish language school experience in Mexico City. When I was searching for schools in CDMX last winter, the only two that appeared to be offering in-person teaching were this school, and UNAM's CEPE program. CEPE offers 6-week modules that only begin a few times per year, and the schedule didn't match what I was looking for. I'm relieved that my "backup" L&C turned out to be the perfect fit, and with a super convenient central location.
The school has a small team of smart and skilled teachers and typically offers group classes at the A1, A2, B1, and B2 levels, along with private one-on-one classes. (I believe C1-2 may be offered when advanced students create the demand.) The advantage of this program is that it's fairly flexible and accommodating for each student; I started at A2 for 2 weeks, which proved to be largely review, then advanced to B1 for about a month with the stellar Cesar, before finally going for it and pushing myself to B2 for the final few weeks of my stay in CDMX. Each week varies, with a mix of grammatical exercises, reviews, role-plays, group activities, and so on. Each teacher has their own style and approach, but generally classes follow the structure of the "Prisma" textbooks for each level.
I'm proud of the progress I've made, and still find it a little unbelievable that I was involved in an all-Spanish political debate in my B2 class (!). Progress does come, trust! In addition to the overall time you put into classes while in Mexico, your dedication to immersion and out-of-class study makes a BIG difference. Maximizing the time you spend speaking/listening in Spanish every day, reviewing each day's materials, attending the weekly "conversation club" to share chelas & chisme with students and teachers: all great ways to accelerate language acquisition. It should be noted that this is a pretty casual program, with each week bringing in new students that change the flavor of the classes. Some stay for months, some for a week or two. There is not a set term (like at UNAM). However, the advantage of L&C is great flexibility: if you foresee travel for a few days some week, or work gets in the way, or you get sick, tell the office and you can pick class back up when you're ready. They're really friendly and helpful if you communicate in advance.
Muchas gracias y abrazotes a Cesar, Lorena, Carolina, Marco, and the other friendly teachers and staff I shared space with almost every day. (Thank you for the extra curricular help and advice and friendship, too!) I definitely look forward to popping back in for classes when I return to CDMX!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came to CDMX looking to learn Spanish. Before I arrived I booked one week group classes at B1 level at L&C in advance to see what the vibe was like. I ended up staying 4 weeks in total! I really ejoyed learning Spanish from César, our main teacher. He is very knowledgeable and above all he makes the classes fun and interesting. For example: some classes were themed along local culture like the tianguis or the history of Mexico. In that way, increasing vocabulary or the use of verbs was made very interesting because you immediately have a connection to whatever is happening outside the classroom. Other employees at L&C were always lovely and helpful and together with the other students at L&C a fun, relaxed and friendly vibe. (Almost) every week on thursday evening there is the opportunity to meetup with everybody at the school at L&C language café. I definitely improved a lot of my Spanish over a beer in a café with the teachers and other students. I can only but highly recommend L&C as your language school. Moreover, when I will return to CDMX next year I will take more classes at L&C for sure!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Smart and friendly teachers. They can adapt the lessons to your needs, and I was able to skip grammar that I already knew to practice conversing. To make the most of it though you can't be shy and have to be comfortable asking questions. Often times the Friday class will involve a cultural aspect, like going to a museum or market. They also host language exchange nights which are a really great way to practice and meet other like-minded students and locals!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Please be careful with this establishment. I sent an initial email inquiry clearly stating that I would not be able to do five consecutive weeks for the 5 saturday course -- that I would need to take two weeks off after week two and resume for the remaining three weeks. When I arrived, they slipped a contract on my desk that said "any missed classes will NOT be recovered or rescheduled." This was deceitful and I decided to discontinue immediately. I am currently pursuing a refund.
For the two hours that I was there, I was also disappointed by the quality of instruction. We began the class by reading a paragraph in Spanish and the teacher translating, and then continued that pattern. This is not an effective way to learn a foreign language. There was no conversation practice. It was very old school.
I would highly recommend Walk Spanish instead. I took courses from them for four weeks and would've returned, but they don't offer Saturday classes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ From the very moment i inquired on the website about potential classes i was met with very gracious help from Lorena and Tatiana. They helped me get set up for a week of a super-intensive course with 2hrs per day of private tutoring with Karla and 3hrs of group classes with César. My path with learning Spanish has never been a straightforward one, and thus i have areas where i can do complicated conjugations and areas where i had never learned some of the basics - both professors were so patient and accommodating for the places where i needed a little more help to catch up. In just 5 days i felt like my capacity (and confidence) with the language had progressed so much and my final classes ended with affectionate gratitude for the time spent together. I’m so grateful for L&C (and K&C :) for helping me towards my language goals. Hopefully I will be able to return for more!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really benefited from the one-on-one classes in addition to the small group class sessions. My teachers made learning Spanish grammar understandable and fun! Having different teachers for the group and one-on-one classes means learning Spanish in different ways which keeps you on your toes, plus you get to meet more people ? Highly recommend L&C, and I can't speak highly enough regarding my tutor, Dieter in particular.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had two good weeks at L and C. In the first week I started with private classes with Lorena who were such a good and sweet teacher. I really enjoyed my classes with her. And then I got ready to join group classes the next week which was both intense and good. So if your up for learning some Spanish you should definitely go!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I highly recommended learning Spanish here! I did 4 weeks of private lessons with Cesar I did 1 hour then did 2 hours once a week. The 2 hours worked best for me, I really enjoyed private! Cesar was so so so amazing, an excellent teacher. I really enjoyed his teaching style. He would tailor the lessons very well to my needs and when I would want to work on something specific he was very receptive. He’s also makes the class super fun which I really enjoyed. L&C was very communicative with me and they worked with my schedule which would sometimes change on a weekly basis. Highly recommend!
