A very private beach with beautiful views. Several great places to stay and eat. Do not bring anything valuable.

It used to be a garage dump and it is still very toxic. No clean water and you can see all the oil in the sand. The people of that community love to cook food with burning plastic. It is a toxic dump.

A boat journey through the Sontecomapan lagoon mangrove will take you to this long stretch of paradise. A few restaurants near the pier help you get the nourishment and booze to explore the long sandy beach. Amazing place for family. Ask local fishermen to take you to the nearby isolated beaches were you can claim and camp in your very own piece of paradise.

Hands down one of the best beaches in Veracruz. La Barra de Sontecomapan has a beautiful beach with warm, clean, and calm waters. I highly recommend eating at La Sirena Olmeca. We arrived by boat from the lake shores of Sontecompan. Tours or 'recorridos' are offered, they can start at 1200 per tour. A taxi cab can charge you anywhere from 100-250 pesos depending on your destination. This hidden gem is one of many located on the coast of the Tuxtla region. Please do you part in keeping the Tuxtla region clean.

Great place to visit ! I had to pay someone to visit 600 pesos to drop our group off and pick up at our scheduled time. There are people at the shore offering to do the same for about 1,000 pesos. I asked where we had breakfast at. We got on the boat and arrived around 11am. Once we arrived they showed us our seats and shared hammocks. The water is mixed with ocean water and the sweet waters of the town. The water there is shallow. So once we went in It reached about my knees for like 4ft in (I'm 5'5). The further you go in it gets slightly deeper but barely noticeable (just be careful not to go too deep since it is quiet easy to just keep walking). They also have showers there to clean off, but you can not use soap or shampoo just to rinse off. We ordered our seafood and drinks ended up paying $1,700 for 7 people. I was told the seafood is freshly caught same day for serving. You can also pay with your debit or credit card with 4% extra charge. Then the guide arrived to take is back and it was just a few minutes back then paid him. Overall I enjoyed it wasn't too crowded and prices seemed fair and a place to visit !
