Beautiful especially at sunset. I would recommend a tour guide. The road is narrow and curvy. After dark would be challenging if you don’t know the roads. A friend took us.

This is worth the effort to go. The view is incredible. They say on a clear day you can see all the way to Puerto Vallarta. The road is difficult and especially bad in the rainy season so take a 4 wheel drive or truck if possible. You park at the point on the map and walk about 15 minutes past the cell power station on the path to reach the lookout.

UPDATE: You need to pay now to get into the pathway!! looks super sketchy there is a handmade fence and a lady (this time) with a cardboard sign saying $20 pesos ($1 US dollar). Don't think is to preserve the place (saw garbage in the way) and they're there on random days. Hope this money is going to the place on not to people trying to profit with us. __________________________________ AMAZING VIEW! On a very clear day you can see Banderas Bay. It takes about 40min to 1 hour to get to La Bufa from San Sebastia town (depending how the road is). I would not recommend taking your car up because there are some very bad parto of the road. ATVs are for rent in town. What I discover recently is that a small family of older people is living up there! In a small wooden hut which I don't completely like. I love how you can hear the wind blows (hence the name "Bufa").

As others have recommended, the road is NOT for small cars. You will see very big holes, very narrow stone, dirt and vegetation paths. You can easily get passage to the mountain via local touristic companies for mere 15 USD (300 pesos). Once you get to the top of the mountain, you will have to walk approximately 15 minutes on tricky stone, dirt and wood pathways in the forest before reaching the stone summit. Once there, you will be greeted by a wooden veranda and an almost 180 degrees view around the mountain with perfect view to the sunset. Sometimes on clear days (Mostly after rainy season), You will be able to even see the sea in the horizon. ALWAYS HAVE CASH, to enter you need additional MXN currency (20 pesos at the moment of this writing). Most of the times there are a family who takes care of the path. You can eat Elote, get drinks and bottled water for a fee. Also restroom available.

Absolutely breathtaking ! Strong advice: DO NOT drive your car ! It's more or less a 1-way road and although some parts are better than the streets in town, other parts will make you wish for 4WD. Save your day by renting a quad, its worth every centavo. About a 45 minute drive with the quad, plan on 1 to 1-1/2 hour if you take a pickup, jeep, etc. But GO ? !

a nice view if you are on a clear day. basically almost inaccessible. the road up is 14 km from San Sebastian and virtually impossible by sedan. la bufa Is not the mirador. that is another 500m along a difficult trail. it is called Cerro de la bufa. you can buy a meal from the locals egido kitchen, where the steamed tamales are quite good.

It's good and all but it takes a long time to get up there. Plus there are guys charging you to access the top. It's just $20 pesos but I think it's more how they do it than the amount.

Went up twice because the first day we got caught in a storm and had to return back immediately. I highly recommend renting an ATV and going up with a tour guide. The view is breathtaking!
