Superb quality taste testing and great friendly staff?

I came to Guadalajara looking for an opportunity to find a tequila that felt artesanal, local and unique. I wanted to capture the wonderful feelings I experience during my stay and bring them back as a gift for a friend. La Casa de las Once Letras did not disappoint, tucked into a small space on the main avenue of beautiful Tlaquepaque is a store with the warm clean lines of painted stucco in earth tones and beautiful “papel picados” hanging from the ceiling. You are greet by a smiling host (I could see it even with his mask on) who offers you a sample of some of the flavored liqueurs. I had a chance to sample the Maracuya (passionfruit) and it was delicious, I can only imagine what the other flavors taste like. I was worried it would be overwhelmingly sweet, but the passionfruit came through clean, bold and floral. After perusing their offerings, I found the perfect gift, a bottle of “Extra Anejo” tequila in a beautiful bottle decorated in the matte talavera pottery style. It was the perfect gift. I liked it so much I ended up buying two, one for myself as well as my friend. The host gave us the history on how the tequila and liqueurs were made and I am glad I found this shop because it just made me appreciate Jalisco so much more. I can’t wait to go back so I can buy some of the flavored liqueurs this go round .
