★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sunday back to Ajijic for gritty vegan Doble Tentacion drink at Cafe Cacau. Worth bus back and forth to Guadalajara? For a retiree, sure. Pandemic food menu reduced to tamales but they plan to stay open.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was my first time trying cacao and it was a delightful experience. The owner Nora knows the health and medicinal properties of the drink inside and out. Will definitely be back to try other all the flavors and variations of cacao - the food of the ❤️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It wasn't for me. I've read rave reviews so I think it might be me not them. I had a cacao drink. I thought it would taste like chocolate. It tasted like coffee to me. I don't like coffee. I had a tamale and it was ok. Maybe if I had a dessert the chocolate would have come into play. The waiter was very nice. And when I phoned the girl was saying they had a small menu. So maybe there was more of a choice before the pandemic. I might give them another try.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Omg love the cacao drinks and options for non-dairy milk! Vegan cookies and chocolate goodies. Such a great little place. Sweet workers. Can’t wait to go back before I leave.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Casa del Cacao in Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico is amazing! I love great coffee AND tea having traveled to some great places for both all over the world. However, following a wonderful Cacao ceremony with three Mayan shamans, I learned about the wonderful benefits AND flavours inherent to Cacao, then of La Casa del Cacao while visiting to Ajijic the first time. The variety of hot and cold drink options are fantastic, and the staff are all very helpful albeit a little shy. Be patient with them, and they will explain all you need to know about the cacao beverages and edible treats, the Tamales, as well as, the other wonderful items available in this magical little shop. I am definitely a fan, and a regular whenever I am staying in or traveling through the area!! Muchas Gracias!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing!!! As always. A weekly occurrence for me. I will be back tomorrow as well.
**I take the 100% raw Cacao back to the States so I can continue on with my daily Cacao drink, drinking it the traditional way, that is with an "intention" being made before I take my first sip.
