An excellent place to try, both typical food, as new dishes prepared with local and organic ingredients. They attend events. We arrived unexpectedly and tried taquitos of Jamaican flower, Mexican beef and chicken. Really very rich. We also tasted liquor from Jamaica, passion fruit, plum, coffee and corn.
As if this were not enough, this family has worked hard to recover varieties of corn that were being lost in the region or that are in danger of extinction. It is impressive to see corn and beans that one did not even imagine existed, such as "garlic" corn or "strawberry" corn.

Cuisine based on nixtamalized creole corn with typical local stews. You can buy tortillas to go. You have to book 2 days before so that they can serve you very well. The restaurant is very rustic, like a ranch kitchen.

It really was a unique experience, they should take the time and go not only for the food that is delicious, but also to hear a little history of something so important in our Mexico such as corn. Ezequiel is truly a man with a passion for caring for our roots.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must go for great home made food and chance to see and learn about maize from all across the Americas north and south. La Casa del Maìz is helping save these forgotten species. If your looking for a place that serves some good homemade local food this is also the place, we were lucky enough to have the blue tortillas and were able to take some home with us. You can walk around and see some shops there’s a list across the street we walked to a shop where they use black clay. Really a must go away from the crowds.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing, authentic home grown natural food experience. Ezequiel and his family are stewards of traditional corn varieties and they will not only educate you but make you feel at home and will certainly feed you well. Well worth the trip. Contact them ahead of time for a reservation.
