Desde 1989, el vuelo de la mariposa-papalotl lleva entre sus alas un proyecto alternativo de salud, sabor y conciencia. Papalotl significa mariposa en náhuatl, su elemento es el fuego y se refiere al espíritu de los guerreros. Somos una panadería y cafetería artesanal y casera donde ofrecemos alimentos vegetarianos e integrales, provenientes del comercio agroecológico, justo y local.
En La Casa del Pan Papalotl sabemos que es posible crear alternativas de producción y consumo al margen de la industria alimentaria actual. Para eso hemos creado una comunidad basada en la cooperación, la colaboración y el intercambio, buscando mejorar nuestra calidad de vida, así como generar una mayor conciencia. Nuestro mayor gusto es servirle y ofrecerle un espacio alternativo, rico y alegre para nutrir su cuerpo y su espíritu, sembrar nuestra semilla en el campo fértil de la imaginación de que todo puede ser mejor para nosotros y para el planeta si así lo queremos.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Incredible place. Lots of homemade/ locally sourced foods! (Roof top garden). Great art pieces around the restaurant. Friendly staff. We came here everyday during our visit in San Cristóbal. Sometimes just hot chocolate with homemade macadamia milk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ More than simply an eco healthy cafe! A community centre for a wide variety of health conscious people :) Food is excellent. Wander around. There's a yogo studio, a cinema and a tienda upstairs that offers all kinds of local health products.

I like knowing that I can visit this place and find great food at great prices.
They have a daily menu that includes a soup, main dish and dessert for $120.
I’d recommend it a 100%

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff was nice and the space seemed pretty but the food was lackluster and made me sick. I had this place marked to try as its vegetarian. I arrived to a buffet for $120 pesos which because of the plandemic staff were serving from rather than everyone taking their own food which was appreciated only because buffets are always kind of gross. My understanding of chilaquiles is that they are cooked, not just sauce and cheese thrown over cold chips. They were the worst I’ve ever had and the sauce had no flavor. Even the picante salsa they brought at my request wasn’t spicy and lacked flavor. The crema de champiñones also lacked flavor. The potatoes au gratin and fruit were the only tasty food and they ran out of the potatoes. I also tried an omelet and tamale, both flavorless. But the worst part was an hour later I had to run into another cafe in town and pay to use their bathroom as my stomach literally exploded with sickness from the food.

However, I do not recommend the dinner buffet. The options were bland and became boring very quickly, not worth the relatively expensive 150 pesos. Still 4 stars for the rest
