★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic place to eat. Great friendly staff. Delicious food and they have some awesome gifts from the Oaxaca region. Highly recommend this place. This is very close restaurant to Condominiums Pilar as well. Within walking distance. And the breakfast menu looked delicious too even though I haven’t tried it yet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This review is difficult because the food and ambiance were top shelf. The service was really lackluster, however. We had to get up from the table to greet someone to take our order, get up from the table to make a second request for salsa, flag down a person to purchase a second coke, and flag down a person to pay the bill. I have heard from others that the service is wonderful here so perhaps we just popped in at a bad time. We will give them another try because the good was delicious (tortilla soup and coconut shrimp).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Catrina was conveniently at the entrance of San Carlos ! Super glad we stopped here then try to keep driving and look for another restaurant. Everything was fresh and delicious! The art work was really nice to look at . We ate outside which had a very chill vibe. Only thing I didn’t like is that there was only 1 restroom, and I had to wait in line to use the restroom when I really had to go!( I did mention this to Jorge but he informing me they’re building 2 more restrooms !, so next time we come back they will be available) Other than that I highly recommend the food and environment. Jorge the owner was really nice and made sure we were taken care of.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing experience! Jorge the owner is very hospitable and we had the best lobster dinner ever! The restaurant itself has hand made artisans (art, hats, bags, rocking chairs, etc) all made by hand by the owner! Truly amazing restaurant and people working here! The icing on the cake was their rescued turtle Conchita who roams around! We will be back!

They had live music. Perfect volume. Friendly atmosphere. Awesome service. Must do when in San Carlos.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Jorge and his staff a very attentive. The food is incredibly delicious. We have had breakfast and lunch so far and now we are planning a dinner. Can't wait to come back to this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant is lovely and we had great service, except that the kitchen was very slow. Adjoining table had to wait for their food until someone brought in eggs to cook with and warned us that they had been waiting a long time. I had the strangest fish & chips of my life!
I think that the fish was fried ( yesterday?) and then baked in an oven today. There was not a hint of oil on it anywhere. The pieces were soft and limp. The tarter sauce, (or was that supposed to be coleslaw?) was weird; tasted of strong dill pickle mixed in mayonnaise.
My husband's hamburger looked good and he said it tasted good.
Sodas are 35 pesos a can and are a bit pricey.
We didn't try any dessert.
Waiter told us we could use our card, but then changed his mind.
Not sure if we will ever give it another try.
