El excelente sabor y el carisma de Doña Carmen Castorena Vázquez “LA CHATA”, desde el año de 1942, fueron parte de una tradición tapatía que hoy en día sigue vigente por generaciones, deleitando a un público local y exitosamente aceptado por el turismo que nos visita.
Permanecer durante tantos años con el sazón, la calidad, la higiene y el buen servicio que caracteriza el RESTAURANT LA CHATA es importante para poder seguir siendo los pioneros de la cocina tapatía.

Actualmente cuenta con solo dos sucursales, la matriz ubicada en el centro histórico en Av. Corona No. 126, y la sucursal providencia, con dirección en Av. Terranova No. 405.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Acceptable experience. Could be much better. Got the caldo tlalpeño. The chicken was not cleaned well (veins and bits of skin) and they used only dark meat which made the caldo smelly. The service was great and the wait was not as bad (10 minutes). Thank you!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent food, overall. I had the flautas, and a torta ahogada. The torta didn’t lot meet my expectations, but the flautas were great! Good size portions. Wait staff seemed hurried and we’re not engaging at all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such amazing authentic food!! Amazing salsas… and best tortillas I’ve had in my life. Rice water, chicken quesadilla, sopes, pozole… there’s a reason it’s so highly rated! Very attentive, friendly staff! Must try.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just WOW! So many people here on a Sunday morning, and needless to say the line was long but quick. The food has perfect taste in my opinion, at least the chilaquiles in red sauce. The wait for the food was ok, considering how busy they were and the price is very reasonable. If you are in central Guadalajara this should be on your list.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hands down best best restaurant in Guadalajara. There is a reason for this many amazing reviews. The place is incredible. Loved the service but mostly i loved the food . I left this place so happy. I recommend absolutely everything. Pozole was my fav and quesadilla with chicken.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nothing really special about this place. I watch how they are cooking and I did not see they have cleaning measure in place. For instance, the folks who is preparing food don't ware gloves. How would I know they cleaned up their hand after going to restroom. Also, I noticed the color of the oil looks strange. I order something I am sure their hands won't touch to make sure I won't get their germs. The line can be crazy long.
