★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The setting for this restaurant is lovely and very charming. The service was attentive but not intrusive. These are the reasons why this is three stars. The food unfortunately did not support the prices. The french onion soup had some type of creamy cheese on top instead of the usual Gruyere or Swiss Cheese type. The Beef Bourguignon was more like a course stew. It had a thin broth instead of the expected rich red wine sauce and the carrots and mushrooms were in large chunks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Discovered this gem of a French restaurant in Puerto Vallarta (by the Malecon next to the suspended yellow umbrellas), and everything here was fantastic! The food, the location, the ambience, the service - first rate. We had the Portobello Farcis, Pates a la Carbonara, and the Coq au Vin, and would recommend them all, with the Farcis and Carbonara being my personal favorites. The portions are great and the quality is excellent. For dessert, would definitely recommend the Chocolate Fondant. If you're in Puerto Vallarta and looking for a great dining experience without breaking the bank, definitely check out La Cigale!

The manager made sure we got a seat even though we were half an hour late and the main dishes were pretty good French dishes for a place in puerto Vallarta. We got the coq au vin and the boeuf de bourgignon as well as the chocolate lava cake in the end which was delicious and rich. It is also located in a really cute part of the city right before the main cathedral

I had a three course dinner, French onion soup, Portobello Francis (stuffed mushroom), and a giat cheese and strawberry salad. With a Chilean Chardonnay-- ok three, one for each course! Filling, delicious.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Upon walking in I was sure I had entered a little bistro on a small street in Paris with quaint French jazz playing taking me back to the 1940s (or so it seemed, as that was long before my time). Every course I has was better than the next. I couldn't believe how flavorful the food was, and how high quality the ingredients and for such reasonable prices. Even the house wine (a French Cabernet Sauvignon) was so yummy. The service was also impeccable. I really felt like I'd hit the lottery on this find, highly recommend.
