Amazing food for $1-5, way better than some of the $100+ fancy restaurants around it. Highly recommend the kilo of chicken deal for big groups.

This is a hidden gem!! Watch the Taco Chronicles on Netflix (documentary about the various types of tacos and their origin and history...). Cochinita pibil is one of the most delicious and flavorful tacos there is in Mexico. Do yourself a favor, go hungry and order a couple of tacos (cochinita) and a torta (cochinita style). You won't be disappointed. We ate their various times and got hooked!! Once you understand how the cochinita meat is being prepared (Netflix, youtube), you will appreciate the complex flavor and juicy meat experience. Next time in Play, this will be one of our "stables", worth to eat frequently..!! Talk to the server, she was incredibly patient with our "broken Spanish" and incredibly friendly, answering all our questions and giving us hints what else to try on the menu. Thank You!!

It is excellent food and I encourage any local guides visiting to try the all the sauces, green, red and brown along with the pickled onion and lime on their cochinita!! It’s truly mouthwatering and worth visiting to try.

My friend and i came here for a quick bite and ended up getting tortas (sandwiches) AND tacos! Everything was so delicious and so reasonably priced! And the owner is so friendly, will definitely come back!

Ok! This is, in my opinion, one of the best value/quality meal. Their Cochinita Pibil is AMAZING. My husband and I had dinner there, a few times, and each visit cost us under $7 USD total. We tried everything on the menu and... EVERYTHJNG is delicious. The owner is super sweet and the recipes are her mother's. 100% recommended.

It's true: this one is better than the one on 5th av! Had amazing panuchos here (fried, crispy tortillas topped with meat). Try the conchita pibil (slow roasted pork) or the nice carne (beef). The vegetarian taco is made with cheese, chaya (local vegetable, similar to spinach) and corn, as far as I can tell. Really liked it as well as the guacamole (with lots of lime --> very refreshing). Only thing I might skip is the longaliza (sausage) as it was a bit dry. Drinks are cheap as well! The ever present agua de Jamaica is lovely.

Absolutely loved this place! As others have also pointed out, their cochinita pibil is amazing (and in my opinion best enjoyed on a panucho). I also loved their zesty guacamole and the fact that a full meal for two people was only 310 pesos. Why people were cueing around the block for a nearby tourist trap when this place is just around the corner is beyond me: can’t recommend La Cuchi Loka enough!

Very cheap for a tourist and the food is amazing. The best quacamole I've tasted and the cochinita pibil (pulled pork) tacos are so good that you'll want to eat a whole dozen :)
