La Diferencia Restaurante - 44160 Guadalajara

Al contrario de todos los comentarios, la atención fue muy personal desde que llegamos, nos sirvieron de manera rápida, tanto el atún con alcaparra y el Rib eye estuvieron riquísimos muy buen sazón. El mesero muy formal y siempre atento a si los faltaba algo, desde vino, pan o agua. Realmente vale la pena visitar al lugar. A pesar de las críticas malas, volvería a asistir.

Great service, the quality and quantity of yhe food is good. The price for the food is fare. It has a great view and the house is super pretty. If you get the chance to purchase a Groupon do it.

La Diferencia (The Difference) should be called La Decepcion (The Deception). Service was awful, the food was a hit and miss, drinks were beyond bad and their wine is ..an unknown... their wine list does not reflect the vintage, so who knows how young of a wine you are getting. They DO NOT HAVE WINE GLASSES. They use small water goblets (approx 6oz) and it was just not enough for the wine to breath and open up. When we advised the head waiter about their "wine goblets" his reply was that those were the house glasses and that it reflected the name of the restaurant, La Diferencia. He also added that the restaurant did not have a Sommelier. Their wine list offered wines from Mexico, France, Chile, Spain and Argentina, however, they are non existant in their cellar. We ordered a Malbec from Argentina and they said they did not have it. We asked for a Chilean Carmenere and the wine was awful. Asked for a Mexican Syrah and out as well???? Ultimately we went with what they had ... a Spanish Rioja. Not bad but we wanted something with more body. Their red wine is kept at a chilling temperature and we actually had to wait for the wine to warm up. As far as aesthetics they can do so MUCH better. The location is a beautiful mansion in an excellent area, however, the restaurant is not kept CLEAN, walls are dirty and the bathrooms seemed as if they get cleaned once a week. It's a beautiful residence turned into a restaurant but you pay for a 5star restaurant with food and drinks at 2 star level and all else at 1star or below. La Gran Decepcion (The Great Deception). So sad. It almost made us feel as if this location was more of a "front" for illicit activity. As you can tell by the photo, the restaurant was pretty empty but reservations are a must! Humm, I wonder why?

Best food we had in Guadalajara anywhere. We tried hard to find good food in Guadalajara but everywhere else seems to be mostly very greasy Mexican good. The food here at Cocina is great. Creative seafood dishes. The restaurant is in a relaxing colonial setting. The service is classy and attentive. Not too expensive. Check if they are open as they open late in the day.
