LA GAVIOTA Restaurant-Bar - 40895 Zihuatanejo

This is one of our favorites in Zihua. We love the food, the view, and the staff! The seafood and rice for 2 is massive and has lots of great seafood. My daughter loves the potatoes dish. Everything we have tried has been lights out amazing.

The restaurant is right on the water, very pretty and stylish. We were told we were lucky to get a table as they are usually full, so reservations are best. Friendly and attentive service. Tiny bit on the slow side to begin with but got better. Excellent food and drink. Little on the expensive side but well worth it for the quality and uniqueness of the food. Would go back.

Delicious meal. Staff had excellent knowledge of accommodating gluten free (even celiac) needs. The views are incredible, the drinks are nice. Great staff, atmosphere and food. Bonus, they even had a high chair. They accept credit cards.

We went there for some drinks and dessert. The place was not busy. Our waitress was polite, spoke good English, but the service was non-existent, as she simply did not care. I have long finished my drink but there was no signs of coffee for my husband, no even attempt to explain why it takes so long, especially considering that my drink had a coffee in it. So 30 minutes after placing the order I had to go and ask. The waitress said that she had no idea why it takes so long. We are talking about a cup of coffee here. When we got our dessert, we cancelled my husband's coffee order. The coffee actually came, 50 (fifty) minutes after the order was placed. No, thank you, no desire to have any. We left extremely disappointed, since the location and the restaurant are quite nice. Terrible service though.

WOW! The food and service is as good as the view at La Gaviota! Staff are friendly, attentive, and are easy to communicate with in both Spanish and English. The food and drinks arrive quickly, and staff are sure to check in that everything is in good order, and clean the table for what's necessary. The menu is very well done, with various options for starters, appetizers, mains and desserts. The facilities are clean and well maintained. And the views from almost any part of the restaurant will make every bite taste better. Highly recommended!

Very modern restaurant in La Ropa. Food is mixed in American and Mexican styles. Our waitress was very polite and could perfectly speak English. I love the design of my meals. Also, It was a bit overpriced compared with other restaurants in that neighborhood, but you get what you pay.
